India monitors battle near Sittwe in Myanmar, the port crucial to northeast trade

There has been no internet service in Sittwe since mid-January and night curfew has been imposed in the area, which is still under the control of Myanmar Army. The ongoing intense battle is yet to reach Sittwe, as the area is densely inhabited by Rakhine people, who are assets for the Arakan Army, said the people. Sittwe Port is being increasingly used by the junta to ship their goods and commodities and not by the civilian population, they said.
