Ionia Public Schools to interview 3 superintendent candidates IONIA — Ionia Public Schools has selected three internal candidates to interview for its open superintendent position. Interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, June 8, at the Ionia Education Center. The public is invited to attend. Times and candidates are as follows: 4 p.m. — Jennifer Burns, IPS associate superintendent of Instructional Services 5:30 p.m. — Benjamin Gurk, Ionia High School principal 7 p.m. — Wayne Piercefield, Ionia Middle School principal and Title IX and Harassment Coordinator The IPS Board of Education reviewed application materials and accompanying documents and granted interviews to Burns, Gurk and Piercefield
