The Iowa Department of Transportation is now accepting applications for the Iowa Living Roadway Trust Fund grants. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on June 1st and are open to cities, counties and organizations with a statewide focus to help enhance vegetation on Iowa’s roadsides. The projects aim to teach the importance of roadside vegetation and keeping it preserved, planted and maintained. Since 1970 the Living Roadway Trust Fund has funded more than $17 million for research and demonstration projects, vegetation inventories among other things.
