Updated: 10:28 PM CDT May 10, 2021 The Iowa Department of Public Safety said a police pursuit in Fort Dodge ended with a driver suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound.According to the Department of Public Safety, an Iowa State Patrol trooper pulled 18-year-old Isiah Christopher Mosley over in Carroll on May 9 for a tinted window violation.Authorities said the trooper requested a K-9 at the scene after speaking with Mosley and that the K-9 “indicated on the outside of the vehicle.”The ISP reported that Mosley sped away from the scene after troopers asked him to exit his vehicle, resulting in a 60-mile chase to Fort Dodge reaching speeds over 100 mph.The Department of Public Safety said the pursuit ended after a patrol vehicle “made contact” with Mosley’s car, sending it into a ditch on Old Highway 20 near Highway 169.The department said troopers found Mosley with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and that a .45-caliber handgun was found next to him in the vehicle.Emergency crews transported Mosley to a Des Moines hospital for treatment.
