Judges selected 14 vocalists to move on to the final competition. “It really gives us a chance to showcase some of our talented Iowa State students,” Brockpahler said. “They come from all majors and all walks of life, so that’s neat to see. “They all bring different songs and different levels of musicianship to their performances.” This year’s Cyclone Voice will be hosted by pop/hip-hop musician Gnash. “Gnash is a great musician; he’s a producer and a writer,” Brockpahler said. “He’s definitely connected to the music industry on much more than the performing side, so I think that’s a really neat opportunity for our singers to be able to meet and work with him as he hosts the show.”
