US analyst pleads guilty to leaking defence info to reporter

A former American intelligence analyst and member of the armed forces has pleaded guilty to illegally obtaining classified national defence information and giving it to a reporter.
A statement from the US Department of Justice on Wednesday said Daniel Everett Hale of Nashville, Tennessee, who served in the US Air Force from July 2009 to July 2013 faced a maximum penalty of 10 years.
The DoJ said Hale had been assigned to work at the NSA after he received language and intelligence training and was posted to Afghanistan as an intelligence analyst.
