The Coon Dog Cemetery is located seven miles west of Tuscumbia, Alabama in Colbert County on U.S. 72 near Cherokee, Alabama. Turn off the highway onto Alabama 247 and travel approximately 12 miles before turning right onto Coon Dog Cemetery Road and follow the signs. Eighty three years ago a hunter by the name of Key Underwood buried his dog, a coonhound named Troop, in an old hunting camp where the two of them had enjoyed coon hunting for years.
