Judges shouldn’t be part of judiciary fund management – ASCAB The Punch Published 12 April 2021 The Alliance on Surviving COVID-19 and Beyond says the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria and the Nigerian Bar Association should put in place a transparency mechanism that will exclude judges from managing funds budgeted for the judiciary. This is according to a statement on Sunday titled, ‘ASCAB Seeks Transparency Mechanism to Manage Funds for the Judiciary,’ signed by its interim Chairman, Mr Femi Falana (SAN). According to ASCAB, the mechanism will prevent judges from being subjected to undue interference by legislative bodies and investigation by anti-graft agencies.
