KALAMAZOO, MI — The city of Kalamazoo voted to allocate $250,000 in Foundation for Excellence funds to help people living at tent encampments move temporarily to hotel rooms.
The Kalamazoo City Commission on Monday, March 15, approved an agreement with the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region for a $250,000 grant. The money, drawn from the Kalamazoo Foundation for Excellence 2020 fiscal year fund balance, will go to the organization’s disaster relief fund.
