Karnataka colleges reopening on October 4 for new session   |  Photo Credit: Representative Image Karnataka government has decided to reopen colleges in the state for the academic year 2021-22 from October 4 onwards. The new pattern post reopening will include six days classes and no semester breaks in this upcoming academic year. As a part of the draft calendar for undergraduate, postgraduate, and engineering programs, these changes were proposed. While speaking to TOI, Deputy CM and Higher Education Minister CN Ashwath Narayan said, “The draft calendar of events has been chalked out for the academic years 2020-21 and 2021-22, taking into account the COVID19 situation. the UGC stipulation of a minimum of 90 working days in a semester has been taken into account.” However, the draft will be finalized only after receiving feedback from all stakeholders.
