A Bengaluru city civil and sessions court has put a hold on AMR Ramesh's web series Veerappan. Veerappan's wife V Muthulakshmi approached the court seeking permanent injunction.

Web series based on the life of sandalwood smuggler Veerappan was announed last year.
Web series Veerappan has been put on hold by a Bengaluru city civil and sessions court after his wife V Muthulakshmi approached the court seeking a permanent injunction. Veerappan’s wife V Muthulakshmi submitted an affidavit which stated that the makers of the web series are trying to portray the sandalwood smuggler in a poor light based on 'false and fabricated stories’. The Karnataka High Court has now granted an ex-parte ad-interim order of temporary injunction which will restrain AMR Pictures from screening, releasing or exhibiting the web series on any platform.
