NEAR LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) -- Honoring the people who keep all of our power up and running. Monday we thank the Lineman. It's National Lineman Appreciation Day. "Everybody is lost without power and the technology of today, everybody needs power," said Tom Berkenpas, Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative Crew Foreman. "So we are here to maintain it." You've likely seen them up on the line poles. Linemen are the front workers for any power generation company, and they perform a variety of duties that keep power lines up and functioning the way they're supposed to. But they do a lot more work than you see.
