Reporter police and the fbi rushing in tracking down the alleged gunman who they say died at the scene. It is a heartbreaking circumstance for these individuals who have served our country with great valor to be killed in this fashion. We are told the gunman has been identified as Mohammod Youssuf abdulazeez Officials Say they are investigating whether he was inspired by isis or other terror groups. In the past hour a jury found Aurora Movie Theater shooting james holmes guilty of murder in the attack that killed 12 people and left 70 others wounded. We the jury find the defend james holmes guilty of murder in the first degree after deliberation. The verdict means the 27 year old could get the death penalty. Jurors deliberated. Holmes pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. His attorney said he was so disturbed from Mental Illness he was unable to tell right from wrong. Prosecutors say he knew what he was doing. The cause of mondays fire on the bay bridge may not be two small fires broke out on the eastern span of the bay bridge this week. The fires burned several feet of rubber at an expansion joint. According to cal trans yesterdays fire was likely caused by a road flare put down by maintenance crews but mondays fire is still under investigation. A high sped chase ended with an arrest last night. Sheriffs deputies spotted a vehicle similar to one used in a string of burglaryies. The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed into several cars. The driver ran away but was found a short time later inside a bar. Fire crews in pittsburgh are keeping an eye out for hot spots after a fire. Here is what the fire looked like when firefighters arrived around 2 30 this morning. It spread to two buildings and knocked out power to the area for a short time. Because of increased violence in the city this Summer Police started a new Enforcement Effort this past weekend targeting several different areas. Two homicides have taken place including this one. To give you an idea of how important the civil grand jury believes this issue is last year 76 of all emergency calls were for medical reasons. The report says too often First Responders had no paramedics on board. Last summer a statue toppled on to a toddler. Police and firefighters came immediately but took a Fire Department ambulance 13 minutes to arrive exceeding the departments goal of a tenminute response time. 2yearold Cason Shelton later died at the hospital. Since then fire chief has made improvements. In particularly bringing in new ambulances and training new paramedics. I feel like shes working on solutions. Reporter the civil grand jury believes ambulances are not responding to emergencies fast enough and often enough. The report adds there is a chronic lack of serviceable ambulances and they are spaced in different parts of the city which the panels foreperson says effects the response time. People who live in the western part of San Francisco may have longer waits for ambulances than people who live, say, in the downtown part of San Francisco. Reporter the report also criticizes the Fire Department for its failure to find a new home for its Training Center now at treasure island. The department has been told it has to vacate the facility. Supervisor says she asked for some answers. Unfortunately, i still have not gotten information that indicates that there are any major changes that are going to happen to the department. A woman fighting her exhusband over frozen embryos testified in court. 46yearold mimi lee and her husband froze embryoes five years ago. They are divorced and lee wants to use the embryos despite a previous agreement saying they would be destroyed if they split up. Abc 7 News Reporter Carolyn Tyler has been in court today. Tonight caroline tells us what both sides are saying about that contract. The California Assembly has approved a bill that would allow children of Domestic Workers to attend schools in the district where the parents work after a girl was kicked out of a school even though her mother worked as a live in nanny in the district. The senate has voted to roll back parts of the controversial no child left behind law. The changes would leave in place the annual testing schedule but would give states and local districts more control over how to use the tests to assess performance.
