Reporter eric and deion, sources tell abc 7 news that san mateo deputy has worked with the Fbis Joint Terrorism Task force for more than 20 years. His car was parked along jones near market last night. San Francisco Police are looking into this theft and urging the public to be on the lookout. The first will be a shotgun, a weatherby pump action. And the second firearm is a colt ar4, black in color. There were also 40 mags containing 20 rounds each of. 223 that were stolen. Reporter friday night san Francisco Police took a report of a gun and ammunition theft from a san mateo sheriffs deputies. San Francisco Police tell abc 7 news it happened on 41 jones street in the tenderloin. An allpoints bulletin asked the officers to be on the lookout. Reporter this gun and ammunition theft is one of six in the bay area since november of 2015. The weapon used to kill 32yearold kate steinleon pier 14 in july of 2015 was stolen from a sheriffs car. He felt comfortable leaving the gun in his suv with tinted windows. Last year, california lawmakers passed a law requiring Law Enforcement officers to lock firearms in safe boxes in their vehicles. Senator jerry hill sponsored of the legislation and spoke with us about it in october of 2016. You have to secure your handgun if you have one and youre transporting it, in a locked container. Reporter issues have persisted since that law was signed. In september, an offduty San Francisco sheriffs deputy reported his car was broken into and guns stolen on san bruno avenue.
