They capted kevin lynn in los angeles on friday and brought him back to the bay area to face justice early yesterday. Lynn faces charges of abducting 9yearold christine chew and holding her for ransom back in 1995. Police found lynn after getting a tip that he applied for a u. S. Passport. Were assisted by the fbi and lapd who played a big role in helping with this arrest and he took him into custody without incident. Chew was found unharmed nine hours after being abducted. Tey abandoned the plot after learning her parents were in taiwan exactly 22 years ago. A preliminary hearing began for two former Alameda County sheriffs accused of excessive force. It ranks as the fifth largest fire in california history. The napa county local assistant center where helpers finally outnumbered victims and idle hands signal a time of transition. Recovery means that people could get back on their feet. Reporter representatives of some 12,000 people from 4,000 burned homes passed there these doors in recent weeks. They received roughly 13 million in aid from both fema and the Small Business administration. Tonight the office closes but for victims that is still plenty of work to do. Smoke from the Southern California fires has been moving up into the bay area mixing with the high clouds producing hazy conditions but generally pretty clear out there under the high haze. Here is the view from the abc 7 exploratorium camera at well right across the embarcadero from abc 7. And this is the view looking back at the skyline. It is 59 degrees here in San Francisco. And we have mid to upper 50s in oakland, mountain view, san jose, 62 at gilroy and 64 at half moon bay. Mild around much of the bay area. This is the view from emeryville over the bay. We have a couple of chilly spots already. Santa rosa has a temperature of only 49. Down to 44 at fairfield, but we have low to mid50s in napa, novato and concord and livermore. And one live view over the bay. And these are the forecast features. It is cold in the inland valley again overnight. Well have poor air quality tomorrow again. Fifth consecutive spare the air day and the dry mild pattern is with us into early next week. Now overnight, again, this is a spare the air night. So wood burning is unlawful on the spare the air alerts. Chilly in the north bay valley and in the inland east bay valley where low temperatures will drop into the low to mid 70 30s overnight. But near the bay and the coast well see lows only in the mid to upper 40s. So speaking of mild, high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s on the coast. Upper 60s around the bay. Upper 60s to near 70 inland and once again well have the haze tomorrow. And this is another view from sutro tower over the city as we remind you, it is a spare the air day tomorrow. The poorest air quality is expected in the north bay and along the coast and over the central bay. Moderate air quality will prevail in other regions of the bay area. Our expected rainfall over the next seven days is zero. But as we look ahead to midweek next week, it looks like another rainmaker will be coming in here and we expect the rain to start in the morning next wednesday, december 20th and through the day into the evening. And snow in the sierra, those are the indications right now on the forecast models an the rain may be followed by showers on thursday.
