Lisas mother nancy fiedler, who didnt want to appear on camera lives in korda madera and spoke to me time. She assumes her only child was board, one of 44 people trapped aboard the conception. A lot has to happen before the actual deployment can take place. First, the bags have to be loaded on the this truck. After that, everyone stands in this line and they get a health screening. Moving these specialized teams is no easy feat. It requires a lot of equipment, tool, and time. The deployment is for 14 to 21 days. We expect that we will see a fair amount of flooding. Depending on the storm itself, there may be wind damage also that will cause search to be much more complicated, which is rea swift water rescue component. So each of the teams is bringing several inflatable rescue boats with us so that we can perform rescues in the moving water. For many, the hardest part of the deployment will be missing home. My daughters fifth birthday is on sunday. Its always hard to be gone for family. But were going there for a duty. And were occasin obligation to those in need.
