Yeah, it took the lives of two Police Officers and three other people who were involved remain unaccounted for. The fbi is part of the investigation now into the incident, which forced the lockdown of a neighborhood as home after home caught fire. Overnight new details about a shocking rampage near one of hawaiis most scenic locations. Police say a man killed two Police Officers and sparked an inferno in this honolulu neighborhood not far from the famed diamondhead state monument. It sounded like a shotguntype gunshot. Then we heard rapidfire gunshot after that. And then after that we started seeing the smoke. Witnesses say it started when jerry hanel allegedly stabbed his landlord as she tried to serve him an eviction notice. Then there was a loud bang, sounded look a shotgun. Then there was five or six gunshots, sounded like pistol shots. Reporter investigators say hanel opened fire on authorities who responded to the stabbing, killing those two officers. Im deeply saddened to report the tragic loss of two of hpds finest in a selfish and senseless act. Reporter police say hanel then set the hours on fire with the flames spreading. A total of seven homes were destroyed. The smoke just getting heavier and heavier and thicker and thicker. Reporter overnight the suspect remained unaccounted for along with two other people inside one of the homes that burned down. Hawaiis governor tweeted about the deceased officers writing as we express our condolences to their families, friends and colleagues, let us also come together to help and support those who have been forever changed by this tragedy. The police chief clearly shaken as she announced the officers deaths. Our deepest condolences go out to the families of officers Tiffany Enriquez and kaulike kalama. Hpd ohana grieves along with you and shares your loss. Along with the fbi the atf is also now assisting in this investigation. Honolulu hasnt had a Police Officer killed in the line of duty since 2003. Turning now to a deadly shooting in kansas city. Police believe the lone suspect is one of the deceased on the scene. Well have more information on this sorry as it becomes available. But again, two people dead. The clock is ticking toward. President trumps legal team has labeled illegitimate. He took aim at the case as he addressed farmers in austin, texas last night hours after one of his highprofile attorneys argued that the president s actions are not impeachable. I believe if i go to iowa with the backing of africanamericans im a different person in iowa. I have said consistently that i think the Africanamerican Community has been the moral leaders of this country for a long time. And i think that the women in that room are voters and that matters. I think they also carry a weight of moral leadership with other people. And thats what i was saying to them, that in my heart of hearts i believe what they do has a resonance beyond themselves. Steyer said he hopes his grassroots message will be enough to build the Diverse Coalition needed to face President Trump in november as the democratic president ial nominee. My goal is actually to get the highest possible turnout. So im going to spend most of my time trying to make sure that people who otherwise might not vote will vote. Here in washington today the senate decided that Martin Luther kings birthday will be a national holiday. It will be the third monday in january beginning in 1986. It was dr. Kings dream of a colorblind america which spurred this nation on to the great civil rights legislation of the 1960s. The bill was a cause that brought together faces from the old civil rights coalitions, ministers, entertainers, activists, and politicians of both races, both parties. Dr. Kings widow and son looked on from the front row of the senate galley as the last efforts to block the bill were voted down. In the final hour with the outcome assured the bills supporters led by kennedy of massachusetts had their moment. Martin luther king, said kennedy, gave his life to complete the Unfinished Business of the American Revolution and the civil war. He was the Irresistible Force of justice that made t
