Happening today in the east bay, air testing of the high school in oakland begin after a cancer causing chemical was found in the groundwater nearby. The school has canceled classes indefinitely according to local and state officials there are several sites that could be the source. Students and teachers dont know when theyre going back. Classes may resume next week. The school year could be extended to make up for the missed days. The search continues for the remains of a missing couple in marine county. Theyre from palo alto. They disappeared while on a hiking treep o hiking trip one week ago. Its now a search and recovery mission. They believe the couple would have been found by now if they were in an area accessible by foot. Deputies thought they had a lead when canine pointed this em to shell beach. The u. S. Coast guard will aid with the search using boats, jet skis and helicopters and drones throughout the weekend. Early friday morning, family members say jose garcia was making his way home from work. The 31yearold driving where his partner and the couples 6yearold son were waiting. She sent him a text when he didnt arrive home at 2 00 a. M. He never answered back. So i waited and i fell asleep for a little bit. Then i woke up and again wasnt there. He wouldnt make it home. At 1 54 a. M. , the driver of this car crashed into the median. Two other southbound drivers hit the car. A fourth driver, aguilar stopped to help. He was always like that. Hes like too help people. He put on the hazards. He stopped blocking number one lane and got out of his vehicle trying to assist the other people broken down on the road. Aguilar was killed by hate and run driver. Possibly topping out at 70 in some of the inland areas. Also some upper 60s through santa rosa. And then lows to night will be in the mainly in the 40s. Well see some low 40s in the north bay.
