Mothers day Holiday Weekend means even more people could want to get out of the house. Late yesterday, police started patroling the park because it did become too crowded, according to mission local, officers handed out masks and encouraged social distancing. Reports say few people listened to them. Mayor breed said if things didnt improve, she would consider closing the park. Lake merritt in oakland, in what could be a good sign of things to come, sky 7 was overhead yesterday. While there were people out enjoying the sunshine, it wasnt all that crowded. Hopefully, people are listening to the mayors message to give the lake a break. A huge crowd a couple of wepds ago that caught the mayors attention. Joining sf mayor breed warning she will close lake merritt if social distancing does not improve. We really need to give the lake a break, yall. We are really concerned about the traffic there at the lake. We dont want to move into an enforcement situation. We really want people to be socially compliant. So far, police have not issued any citations to people at the lake. Happening today, officials in San Francisco also will be on the lookout for crowds at beaches. Sky 7 was overhead ocean beach and baker beach yesterday where a lot of people took time to cool off. It appears they are following social distancing guidelines there. Officials remind residents that parking lots and beaches in the city do remain closed. Different guidelines for different counties when it comes to reopening. First weekend for stage two of governors reopening plan. Curbside pickup for lowrisk businesses. Most bay area counties, as you know, are not allowing that just yet. Thats leaving shops confused over which rules to follow. The owner of mendles was disappointed that her shop which sells fabric and crafts was closed. There was confusion. My employees, my customers were all kind of confused about it, but i knew it was local jurisdiction was going to take precedent. When theres a difference between local and state guidelines, you have to follow the more restrictive measures. Old businesses will be trust ed to follow along rather than enforced by police. They hope to move to stage two may 18th. In the north bay, three counties are moving to stage two, napa, solano were allowingw curbside deliveries for lowrisk businesses but the move comes too late for one Small Business owner. Her business survived fires and outages but not this pandemic. Last day. Last pie has been sold at the whole pie in santa rosa where owner trish davis is saying goodbye at a distance to loyal customers. We faced every disaster that one could come up with, short of locusts. Reporter last thanksgiving a planned pg e shutdown nearly put davis out of business. Hundreds of pies needed baking. Equipment must not be shared or you will face fines of at least 100. Stricter reopening dpied lines than stage two Governor Newsom has allowed, some other counties are going even further, pushing past even to stage three, against the states order. Mendocino county issued new guidelines, allowing all Retail Businesses to reopen with curbside pick ups. Stage two only allows for lowrisk businesses. The county is okaying groups of 12 children or less to play at athletic fields as long as the group stays the same for each outing. Happening today, two Norwegian Cruise Line ships will be arriving at the port of oakland to dock for at least two months. The ships will have only skeleton crews on board. No reports of coronavirus associated with the ships. Port officials tell us nearly 100 crews ships worldwide are seeking safe harbor as most crewses have stopped during the covid19 pandemic. There are about 80,000 crew members on passenger ships, waiting to get to a berth. They wont get off the ships in oakland but at least theyll be tied up next to dry land. Of course, the last crews ship that last the port had a widespread and deadly coronavirus outbreak among passengers and crew. Cdc and Health Officials in other countries put out guidelines for cruises to disembark but theyve been deadly so crews have been asked to remain on board. Protection from covid19 at san quentin, outside the prison this morning, organizationers are calling for the release of inmates over 60 and with health conditions. The most Vulnerable People are in overcrowded conditions without protections and unable to be physically distanced from each other. New developments in San Francisco, mayor london breed says the city will let lowwage workers stay in 550 unused hotel rooms. They had originally been set aside for first responders.
