Tenants of San Franciscos pier 45 can begin their cleanup operations. This comes two days after a fire that destroyed a warehouse at the historic pier on saturday morning. The port of San Francisco and the Fire Department are working closely together to inspect and make sure the structures at the pier are safe for tenants to return. We know the pier has four structures. One was destroyed on saturday morning. On sunday we learned the ss jer maya unique world war ii artifacts stored in the warehouse was lost. The captain says that they used part of the space that burned as storage. In a call which is what holds the compass, a lot of brass, some brass items that had been donated from other ships. In a Facebook Post volunteers with the ss jer maya National Ship memorial are asking for donations to replace what was launched. The obrien launched in may and 2,700 built during world war ii that remain fully functional. Port Officials Say theyll likely move the ship to a temporary location.
