Air quality this afternoon. Now, look at the heat away from the bay shore and the coast. Were going to hit the 90s and triple digits. Not only today starting at 11 00 but all the way through thursday. We have four days of dangerous heat. Now, that is a heat advisory in the orange. Even hotter in Solano County. Temperatures triple digits today and for the next four days for sure. Thats why youre under an excessive heat warning. Fairfield 100, antioch, 100. Look at the rest of the upper 90s and mid 90s in the south bay and low to mid 90s in the north bay and low 80s around the bay and even an 80 in San Francisco today. Light winds, high temperatures and vehicle exhaust all combine and that makes the air quality unhealthy. Officials say even with less traffic right now, there is still enough exhaust to allow smog to build up during hot weather. People with respiratory issues should avoid any Outdoor Activities today. And happening today, tenants of San Franciscos pier 45 will be allowed back there to clean up their operations. This comes two days after a fire destroyed a warehouse at that historic pier on saturday morning. Lauren martinez joins us from fisherman wharf. The port of San Francisco began inspections of all the structures at pier 45. The Fire Department is also making sure it is safe for tenants to return. This pier houses museum space and Storage Units. The portion that burned on saturday morning houses office space and Storage Units for fishermen and seafood companies. We received new video that shows thousands of dollars of crab pots being destroyed and one 75,00ther t table the fire could be, quote, disastrous for the local fishing community. That pier supports the entire San Francisco fleet. There is not a way to unload boats from between Half Moon Bay and bodega bay. This pier is critical for the local fishing community. While the Fire Department was able to save the historic ss Jeremiah Obrien some world war ii artifacts were lost in the fire and volunteers with the ss Jeremiah Obrien ship memorial are asking for donations from the public.
