Ill show you how hot later on. All right. Thank you. The heat sent many people off to beaches and parks across the bay area despite recommendations to stay at home. Leann melendez spoke to people who said they just needed to get out. She joins us live from the roof at abc 7 studios. I love how you said it earlier, were all human. Thats right. Well, you know, let me just tell you to start out weve been all stir crazy. People have been working from home, theyve been attending classes from home, staying safe at home, but then you added today the heat, the holiday and people said, you know, im going to go out there, im going to practice social distancing, wear a mask or not, and im going to take my chances. People started gather at stern grove in San Francisco as early as 6 30 this morning, perhaps to claim a spot far enough from the crowds, though late in the morning it was clear people were gathering elsewhere at ocean bea beach. This was noon and already the beach was getting crowded. The painted circles were still there and so were volunteers with the San Francisco police department, handing out masks and reminding people to keep their distance. Be safe. You all live together . Yes, we do. Reporter we picked a much calmer meadow in Golden Gate Park to talk to people about what got them out of their homes. Just finding a little bit of normalcy other than six foot distance and masks. Just a little joy. We thought this would be a nice place to be and theyre pretty much social distancing here so it seems like a safe place to be. I lost every piece of equipment, fishing equipment, that i own, not just crab gear, in the fire.
