Reporter protesters invested their saturday afternoon marching to the Vallejo Police department where family members listed off the names of their loved ones they say died at the hands of Vallejo Police. This is the pain that theyve caused. Can you hear us now . Reporter Vallejo Police shot 22yearold Sean Monterosa after he dropped to a kneeling position outside a walmart tuesday. His sisters demanded release of police footage. Civil rights Attorney John Burris say they have 45 days to d so but the public and had family have a right to know what happened. I met their family, the mother and father. This is shocking to them. If they saw the video they may have a different view about all this. Because the cameras themselves can be helpful to them. So he was a young man cognizant of the social that unbeknownst to him moments later his legacy was going to be part of tchanging police violence. Reporter earlier in the evening the Vallejo Police Officers Association posted this on their facebook page. It reads, quote, it should be concerning to people that small children are brought to protests with open air marijuana smoking, foul, vile language, screaming angry mob mentality and profound anger directed at the police. His neighbor who owns the property where he lives says he doesnt know this couple. She just claims she knew the owner of the house. Well, she doesnt know me. Reporter juanillo said he felt attacked and encouraged the couple to call police. They recognized me, i recognized them. They did not even get out of the car. Union leaders presented a list of demands to Police Departments around the bay area. They are calling on them to be more civilized and to redirect funding to community and social services. Small Business Owners in another part of oakland spent today cleaning up after vandals left the path of destruction overnight. It happened in the district along telegraph avenue. Police say a group of about 100 people blocked the street with trash cans and set them on fire. As officers tried to move in some people started hurling rocks and bottles at them. Staff at kelly moore were scraping paint off the floor after vandals broke in, looted dumping paint inside the store and out. Basically they just vandalized the street, sidewalk, broke all our glass and then paint everywhere inside, destroyed. Oakland police are asking for help identifying the people responsible for vandalizing businesses. They want store owners who lost merchandise to submit a report online through the city of oakland website. Business owners who may have video or photos of the damage are asked to email them to Oakland Police. Theyre also asking store owners to register their security cameras through the city so they can potentially access footage of get away cars. A peaceful march today in San Francisco durinvent called the bay area blackout. It all began at 3 00 p. M. At mission high school. The group then marched to city hall where organizers called on students, educators and Community Leaders to join neighbors in the march. All were encouraged to wear black. Police claim he failed a sobriety test and when they tried to arrest him he resisted and was able to grab an officers taser. In this Surveillance Video you can see him running away and then appearing to point the taser at the officers. At that point the atlanta officer reaches down and retrieves his weapon from his holster and discharges it, strikes mr. Brooks there on the parking lot, and he goes down. Chief shields has offered to immediately step aside as police chief so that the city may move forward with urgency in rebuilding the trust so desperately needed throughout our communities.
