Police are looking into social media posts identifying this woman seen in this video coughing on a child at a yogurt land shop. Lauren martinez is live in san jose with the latest on this investigation. Reporter tsom intentionally coughing on this child in a dispute over social distancing. The boys mother has identified the woman in a photo lineup are. In the video released by police, you can see the woman walk over to a stroller and cough at least two times over a young boy. The mother says the woman standing in front of her got mad that she was too close in line. The Oak Grove School district released this statement that says in part, we are aware of an incident allegedly involving one of our ploy degrees who was videotaped coughing on a baby at a local eatery. The employee is currently off of work and not providing any services to our district students. The district did not release the womans name in their statement. So this is what were learning. The quarantine applies to states with at least a rate. As of yesterday, nine states meet the threshold. Carolinas, washington, utah and texas. This morning on gma, the governor of connecticut talked about what went into the tristates areas decision. So back when the new York Metro Area including connecticut had a high infection rate, there were some quarantines in our visitors down to places like florida. And today they have a much higher ten times higher infection rates than we do here. Virus often travels by airplane, and then it spreads. So we felt one of the best things we could do is see if we can prevent that from happening in our region. The governor says while new york will fine people who break the rules, connecticut does not have a plan for enforcement. They may come up with one if the problem gets worse. Starting august 1, tourists can avoid the 14 day quarantine if they get pretested for coronavirus no more than 72 hours before their departure. Visitors would need to present negative covid19 test results when they get to one of the airports in hawaii. The 14 day rule was first imposed in march and has been extended until july 31. Im following this morning there are growing claims to revisit the death of an unarmed black man in aurora, colorado. Elijah mcclain died in Police Custody last year, he was walking home after buying iced tea. Someone called 911 on him saying ski mask. The caller said he was not armed. When police confronted him, they struggled and police gave him a dose of ketamine. For them to kill him because he was that bright and shiny, that different, it hurts. Mcclain later died. The District Attorney says he did not charge the officers involved because no criminal violation occurred. Amid the black lives matter protests and the death of george floyd, there is now a petition going around with more than 2 million signatures calling for the officers involved in mcclains death to be removed from duty. Police this morning are looking into a video showing a young child apparently driving a car in oakland. The video is from june 19 at the Martin Luther king jr. Regional shoreline. You can see the child is behind the wheel with an adult in the passengers seat. The car is moving, police tell us they received a report about this incident, they are now investigating. But the cloud deck is a little bit higher in elevation, so it is climbing over the east bay hills and could make it into the east bay valleys. It wont last long. Back to the coast and that is where it will stay keeping you in the mid to upper 60s, mid 70s to mid80s around the bay and 80s and 90s in the inland neighborhoods. Police in antioch are investigating a deadly fight at a luckys super market officers say that they got a call around 10 00 last night about a fight at the lucky on contra loma boulevard. When they arrived, they found a man unconscious, and he was pronounced dead. Wt was taken to the hospital. Police say the man who died was trying to steal meat from the butcher shop and had attacked an employee, they say the employee fought back and for some unknown reason the man stopped breathing. The investigators dont though whether he died because of the fight or some sort of medical emergency. And this morning the oakland unified School District board has approved a measure that would eliminate the Districts Police department by the end of the year. Oakland police will now respond to calls at the public schools. We dont need police, we didnt need any Law Enforcement entity. I think it is a dangerous mistake. Telling people that the school zones is a free for all of criminal activity. We reached out to the oakland Police Department who has struggled at times with responding to calls. And they would only say they will continue to provide security to all community. In the north bay, the napa Police Department says it will limit the use of the use of a chokehold. Officers will only use the technique in a deadly force situation. Earlier this month vallejo and daily city polii police s they would also not use chokeholds. And Governor Newsom is giving another update today at noon. The governor says that he will not hesitate to go back restrictions again. And a bay area lawmaker proposed fines for people who wear masks. Amy hollyfield has more on this. Reporter yeah, were now seeing a county official telling the state to do more. San mateo county supervisor says it is time to crack down on people who didnt wear masks. He sent a letter to Governor Newsom adding him to enforce the statewide Face Covering order. He proposes a warning for the first offense, 100 fine for the second and 500 fine for the third. The governor has not publicly commented on the letter, but he has said that he doesnt like the idea of taking action against people over face masks. So please, please, wear a Face Covering. We can slow down the spread by doing that. Weve mandated in the state we want to see it enforced, but we dont want to see it punitively done, we dont want to see people fined. Reporter the supervisor says that he will keep up the fight with or without the governor. If the state doesnt take being a he plans to ask the board of supervisors.
