Recommending that bars like this in two bay area counties close. Their home was tagged with graffiti. The first red flag of the season is now in effect thanks to gusty wind overnight. Abc 7 news at 11 starts right now. Building a better bay area for a safe and secure future. Daclly motivateddasm incidents, across the bay area. In alameda, alm, presumably short for all lives matter, tagged on a car, neighbors say, belongs to a black family. Good evening, and thanks so much for joining us. Im dion lim. Im eric thomas. Neighbors came out in alameda to try to clean up the car. They also began a go fund me and chalked kind messages on the sidewalk. We reached out to alameda police. We have not heard back yet. It is not clear if this incident is related to one in oakland. A black man woke up this morning to find all lives matter spray painted on his house. His family has lived there dating back to the 1970s. Abc 7 reporter has the story. It was like my familys home. And for me to wake up and see it attacks in this type of manner, like, it definitely hurts. And its definitely upsetting. This young man, josh, didnt want to show his face, is still trying to figure out why his oakland home was tagged with graffiti early sunday morning. If this was your house, youd probably be just as surprised and just as upset and confused because its like why . All lives matter. There were some cartoons or i dont even know what it was. Joshs neighbor helped paint over the graffiti this afternoon. Some of the graffiti includes slurs against police. Josh says he supports all lives matter but that its not okay to protest by spray painting his house. There are other ways and peaceful ways to do it, just like black lives matter is doing now. So follow suit, instead of retaliating. They want us to lash out and everything. No, im n lash out. Oh block away, joshs neighbors came out to show support for the family. I think its terrible and a clear indication of where we headed now. Families came out, banging on pots and pans, lining up on a street with black lives matter sprayed down the middle. Why do we have to live with this kind of stuff right now . Just chill and just understand that we dont want to hurt you. We just want to live with you. They dont understand that. Josh says he filed a police report. Some residents want it investigated as a hate crime. Its still heartwarming, and its definitely uplifting knowing no ones going to stand for this, especially in this neighborhood, in oakland. We dont have time for this. Oakland police did not respond to request for comment. Abc 7 news. Martinez police are looking for whoever left racist, paintfilled flyers in the citys downtown area last night. As part of our efforts to build a better bay area amid this coronavirus pandemic, we are focused on several different facets of recovery. Tonight, were talking about the economy and your health. Today, governor gavin newsom dealt a blow to some bar owners. He is ordering all bars to shut down in the following counties. Fresno, imperial, kern, king, los angeles, san joaquin, and tulare. Counties that have been on the States Coronavirus watchlist for more than two weeks. Two bayarea counties are among those where the governors recommending closures. Those are contra costa, sa sacramento, santa clara, barbara, and sirventura countie. Jr. Well, eric and dion, bars are currently closed in santa clara county. And today, in Contra Costa County, specifically walnut creek, we found that some bars are open outside. This week, though, we are expected to be given new reopening dates. But the governors recommendations today, could change those dates. I think its a little ridiculous. Patrons responding to governor Gavin Newsoms recommendations. Contra costa and santa clara counties close their bars. Either, were going to make some real decisions or not do it at all. But going back and forth is just ridiculous. But bay area doctors we talked to from sanford and ucsf agree that there is reason to be concerned right now. Weve seen impressive spikes of cases here over the last few dys. And its not all about san quentin. And its not all about nursing homes. This is True Community transmission. We do know from the outbreaks that weve had, here, in the u. S. , clearly, the indoor environment is the major one where transmission occurs. And its those indoor bars that have so many in the medical field worried. In walnut creek, dans irish sports is closed inside but open outside. Doctors we spoke with, though, say its the indoor bar or even restaurant environments that they are concerned about. Particularly, in the indoor environment that these small particles can be suspended in the air for quite some time. So, again, thats the real big concern. Governor newsoms statement he released today on bars. He said, in these environments, alcohol con tucsumption reduces inhibition and impairs judgment. Leads to less mask wearing and less social distancing. Jr stone, abc 7 news. Jr, thank you for the report. Now, in addition to the governors orders, some bayarea counties are adjusting their reopening plans due to a coronavirus case spike. San francisco delayed opening several businesses, including salons, outdoor bars, and museums. Marin county also put on hold tattoo shops and nail salons. While Contra Costa County officials are expected to make announcement tomorrow on whether they will pause any reopenings. For a full interactive map of whats open and whats closed in the county where you live, you can head to our website. It will, also, show you the date each county plans to have it reopened. You can find it all at abc news. Com. To the peninsula now se o badehior at a bar in san mateo county. The scene was captured on video and abc 7 reporter Cornell Bernard has our story. She was just upset that people were telling her she had to play by the rules. This is the unruly customer employees at the restaurant and pub hope to identify. Bartender misha said a disturbing incident happened recently, on the same day they got the okay to start serving indoors. Masks and social distancing, required. This lady kept on hugging people at the bar. And not wearing a mask. Mishas coworker behind the bar asked the woman to comply. Miss, please, put your mask on. Watch as surveillance cameras captured what happened next. The woman leans in and appears to cough directly in the face of the bartender, who steps back in shock and disbelief. It was a very disgusting act. On a couple different levels. Misha was standing just feet away. He quickly told the woman to leave. She does but not before a parting shot. Giving bartenders the middle finger. Then, knocking down a barstool. Before heading out the door. Something like that is just so unacceptable. General manager Bobby Martinez cannot believe the video. Its not nice to do that to somebody. She just refused to follow it. Earlier this month, a woman was caught on camera, accused of intentionally coughing on a child at a san jose yogurt land in a dispute over social distancing. Employees havent filed a police report. They say its not their intention to have the unidentified woman arrested or cited. Only to know what she did is unacceptable. I think if she reflects on this, maybe, she can realize she can be better. No one remembered seeing the woman in the bar before, and they havent seen her since. Some new developments. The manager says Belmont Police were here today. They spoke with staff about the incident. They plan to follow up this week. By the way, the bartender who was involved in the incident is doing okay. In belmont, Cornell Bernard, abc 7 news. T dflag warning for parts of the north bay over night. Today, fire crews were out cutting back brush. In the east bay, the oakland Lgbtq Community center is picking up the pieces this pride weekend, after someone smashed all the centers windows yesterday morning. The center has raised more than 4,000 during a facebook fundraiser to pay for repairs. Witnesses did get a description of the vandal. No word, though, on an arrest. While pride might not be quite the celebration it usually is, people are still finding ways to mark the 50th year of the San Francisco event. San Francisco City hall is lit up in rainbow lights right now. There was a colorful procession in what organizers called the peoples march and rally. Not only was it a celebration of the Lgbtq Community, but a direct acknowledgment of the black lives Matter Movement that has taken off following the death of george floyd. We have to be in the streets now. This is the time thats going to change. Riohats going to change us. If we do not do the work now, we dont change now, this is never going to happen. When have you seen black and brown and white and others, marching hand in hand, in a pandemic . The march started near knob hill and made its way to civic center for a rally. San francisco wrapped up its virtual pride celebration today. Bright copper kettles to replace the usual parade and other events, entertainment has moved online this year, with a series of musical guests. Today included an appearance by celebrity grand marshal w kamal bell. Usually, one of the largest in the country. All right. We are watching the winds carefully because of the high fire danger. Drew tumas been monitoring the forecast for us. Yeah, eric. And those winds are pretty active today. They were onshore, keeping us on the cool side today. Now, those winds are shifting tonight. Theyre more out of the north. And thats a dryer wind for us. And thats why its going to drop our humidity, especially in the north bay overnight tonight. And those winds will remain pretty active the next 24 hours. Tonight, live doppler 7, along with satellite, weve pretty much lost our marine layer. Its evaporated along the coast. And thats because those dryer winds that are setting up that is drying out our atmosphere, as we speak. Numbers, we have fallen into the 50s and 60s. 56 in the city right now. We are down 60 in concord. And 57 that current temperature in livermore. Winds close to the coast have really backed off from where they were earlier today. However, we still have an active wind in the north bay and through the delta right now. Anywhere from about 10 to 15 Miles Per Hour and likely going to strengthen over the infenext couple hours. In fact, if we go into a little higher elevation, st. Helena gusting to 20 Miles Per Hour. Atlas peak. Diablo. Again, will be out of the north, draining in that dryer air overnight tonight. So future tracker wind gusts. Lets track those winds for you. Again, the focus of concern for that fire danger tonight is really in the north bay, where well have those strongest winds. You look at areas outside the bay like oakland, san jose, San Francisco, do remain pretty light tonight through tomorrow. But calistoga from napa to fairfield and will likely see frequent gusts early tomorrow morning. This is 7 00 a. M. On monday morning, between 20 and 35 Miles Per Hour. And those winds, again, will drop our humidity levels. Look at this. Relative humidity as we get into the afternoon on monday by 3 00, you can see very dry humidity from fairfield to napa. Those levels are in the teens. So you combine that with the gusty winds and thats why we had that redflag warning now in effect. The first of the season. This will last until 8 00 p. M. , tomorrow evening. So its a pretty provilonged period today. Winds out of the north, gusting over 30 Miles Per Hour at times. Combination of that low humidity we talked about. That means any fires that could start could easily spread. So something were going to keep our eyes on very closely tonight and through the day tomorrow. Talking about mainly lows in the mid50s. 55 in concord. But again, the big issue is those winds. What you will notice tomorrow, the winds will bring in some warmer air as well. So tomorrow will be a warmer afternoon, compared to today. Well hit about 70 in the city. 78 in oakland. 83 in san jose. So the sevenday forecast. High fire danger tomorrow. The winds relax into the Early Morning hours on tuesday. So the fire danger is alleviated, thankfully. And then, its a pretty nice pattern. No intense heat and well track morning fog to sunshine through the upcoming holiday weekend. Meteorologist mike miguel will be tracking those overnight and have first thing tomorrow morning at 4 30 a. M. Guys. Much appreciated. Drew, thanks. Still ahead on abc 7 news at 11.
