It went on to say, flares are a safety device used in refineries to relieve pressure during the refining process. Firefighters and county Health Officials quickly took air quality readings. Fortunately, it was in the parts per billion. There were no injuries at the plan and no reports of Health Issues in the surrounding areas but chevron warns there could be intermittent flaring throughout the day. The abc7 iteam flagged 23 facilities in the county that failed staffing requirements. State regulators have issued 481 deficiencies. New data shows more than half the facilities were also cited with infectionrelated deficiencies. Why isnt the California Department of Public Health flagging publicties . The state declined our interview request but sent the following statement saying, we conduct surveys to check on compliance. The agency add, we have strike teams deployed to assist Health Care Facilities with preventing and improve Infection Control. Attorney mike dar said both those efforts are inadequate.
