Here is a look from sutro tower and you can see some of the smoke hanging out there. Today will be hot, but it wont be excessively hot from the 80s and 90s to even 60s and recei70 along the coast. Back to you. And in San Francisco, that is the only county not touched by fire right now in the bay area. Cal fire has grouped a dozen fires into regions. So to the north, we have the lnu lightning kocomplex. In the east bay, it is the scu lightning complex. And to the south, the czu lightning complex. Across the state, cal fire says that lightning strikes started more than 60 fires this week. Now lets go to the north bay and zero in on the lnu complex that is made up of seven separate fires and it has burned more than 124,000 acres and there is no containment. The most destructive has been the hennessey fire that pushed deep into Solano County yesterday. And the scu lightscu lightsct has burned at least 102,000 acres. Evacuation orders have been suen jose city limgits. Several people were hurt in that area burning on the border of san joaquin county. It is not clear yet what happened. Cal fire says there is little or no fire history and the flames f have plenty to burn. There are two Evacuation Centers set up in santa clara county. Ann Sobrato High School and Milpitas Library on main street is also an Evacuation Center. And now the czu lightning complex, people in coastal coom and san mateo countysoh to sta been told to evacuate. Five large fires and a number of smaller ones have burned 25,000 acres and 0 containment there. And this morning we are seeing new video of the destruction going on in Santa Cruz County. Lets bring in Julian Glover who is live with the latest there. Reporter good morning. Yeah, 0 contained and 22,000 people have been ordered to evacuate. Were seeing folks in ben lomond ordered to evacuate around midnight. You are looking at video of officers going door to door near bonny doon, trying to make sure that families are up abdominal letter a alert and getting to safety. And we spoke to a man who works at the only gas station. Here is what he saw. A little scared, but just unfortunately we get a lot of this is not a small fire, but we get a lot of small fires and scares ri s kind of on a regula basis. The vacaville based employee was helping First Responders when it happened. Were working to get more details on this. But we know that the flames i st destroying homes and structures. Amy hollyfield is in advantage beingville with more. Reporter we are not seeing the fierce fire spread here rapidly yesterday. But there are still spot fires. Look at this one here on Pleasants Valley road here in vacaville, weve seen several like this and there are firefighters here in the neighborhood putting out these fires. The concern is the wind this morning. We arent experiencing intense gusts, but it is a little breezy. This fire has been so destructive and created some terrifying moments like this one yesterday when it jumped interstate 80 forcing the closure of the freeway. Residents in vacaville and fairfield had to evacuate yesterday are. Some with stories of fighting the fire themselves. Yeah, all of us were. Yeah, we were fighting the fire, you know. And it was scary because once it came over the canyon, it was so fast, i just knew and so intense, the heat, i couldnt believe it. I actually jumped in my car and took off because i was so scared, you know. Reporter Vacaville Police have put out a statement saying evacuation orders are still in place, but says that there has not been as many reports of intense fire activity. Fairfield has lifted evacuation orders, that happened about 1 30 this morning, in the area. And you can see though fires up in the hills, the spot fires. And while talking to the officer who is blocking the entrance to this neighborhood in vacaville, he mentioned that there are some people who have been spotted riding through here on dirt bikes possibly looking to loot this evacuate the neighborhood. He says they are on the lookout for them. Amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. Several School Districts in Sonoma County have canceled Distance Learning today because of fire danger. In Solano County, the office of education has suspended Distance Learning for the rest of the week in three School Districts. San Jose State University online classes resume today but most of the campus buildings will be closed. And all east bay parks not near the shore line will also be closed. People all over the bay area can smell the smoke from these fires. The air quality here right now is the worst in the world. The purple air map shows real time air quality readings. And you can see purple along the peninsula. And this video shows smoke rising fromuightni comple fires. Pg enef their cameras in lake county. It shows the thick layer of smoke spewing from the fires. Did you see those pyrocumulous clouds yesterday . What a sight. Lets take a look at what the firefighters can expect out of the winds today up in vacaville. May not be quite as fast as yesterday, but pretty close. Up to 16 Miles Per Hour. And the temperatures will remain rather warm with mid to upper 90s. Our coolest day will be tuesday at 93 degrees. Here is a look at the hennessey fire surface winds and they also pick up during the afternoon and into the evening hours up around 15 winds. And those are the steady two minute average winds. You could have winds gusting faster than that, but that is what the National Weather service and our models use is a two minute average for current wind speeds. Here is a look at saints maainat to 97 degrees. And in the santa cruz mountains, well get a first wind and i saw a reading of 739 . I didnt even know the scale went that high. So there is really dangerous air in this area right now. And well have the best temperatures after today no more 90s, barely around 80 from someone moving forward. Here is a look at san j quite as hazy as yesterday. Wear a mask at all times today because of the plugollution in air. So as we bring in the maps here, i want to point out highway 1 because you will see that pretty of the entire coastline going down from san mateo to santa cruz the city limits there is shut down right now due to the fires. We heard kumasi mention earlier about davenport being evacuated, and that is right in the middle of this closure. So again highway 1 shut down there. And a ful closure ofbetween al. And you see also 236 closed between 9 and jamison creek. And up further to the north bay here, again this northwest pocket right around 80 and 505, all of those local streets closed. You heard Amy Hollyfield mention that there are Police Officers making sure people do not enter the neighborhoods. And then a little further to the left, 128 between silverado trail and monticello road, completely closed right now. Back over to you guys. Residents throughout the bay area are now dealing with unhealthy air brought on by the wildfires. Officials say the bay area air Quality Management district has issued a spare the air alert that will last through sunday. Residents are being told to keep their windows and doors closed until the smoke levels go down. Cities have shown there are hire rates of covid19 in areas with elevated air pollution. Even within an hourposeposepe wildfire smoke, there are increases in respiratory and cardiac disorders. A vacaville man said he had just moments to track eight when First Responders came knocking at his door. He rushed to safety with his wife and 3yearold twins early yesterday. He said a neighbor called him around 1 30 in the morning to give him a heads up and it wasnt long after that that firefighters were at the door ordering them to leave. We just jumped a bunch of cloths a s clothes and cats d and headed to oakland. And they had just moved to a 16 acre property. He says the fire butted right up to his property line. He has learned that the orchard and horse stables are still standing. California medical facility and California State Prison solano are a little south of vacaville. Uat istime. Nd some stearks stex.
