When they can delay turning off the power they will. Thats what they have done this morning. Lights are still on here in calistoga. The weather is cool. Theres no wind. Even though they had warned that the power would go off between 4 00 and 6 00 this morning, that has not happened. Residents here are very good at preparing and dealing for these Power Outages. They have been through this before. Most people have generators. Many made a trip to the gas station yesterday to fill up their cans so they could power those generators if they needed to. As much as they appreciate having power, there is a side effect to using these generators that people say is tough to get used to. Generators are very loud and they smell bad. What wears you down is the sound. My generator, we can only run a 50foot cord off of it. So we put it between the two houses that we run, and it just drives you nuts. Thats all you hear. Restaurants are getting savvy at dealing with these Power Outages.
