Counties across the bay area are looking around trying to secure freezer space wherever they can find it as they wait for vaccine shipments. Counties are doing what they can to find them now that the governor announced the state will be receiving the Pfizer Vaccine in a couple weeks. Alameda countys website said theyre still in the protest of purchasing freezers and dry ice for the vaccine. In Santa Clara County theyre still in the gathering of pro social security. In terms of the number of freezers, i dont have an exact number. Before coming to the press conference i was on the phone with a group who said freezers arrived on a truck as of yesterday. Dominican University Says they will offer freezers, and in novato, the Buck Institute for research on aging is rushing to clear out their freezers to make space for vaccine storage. The private sector is looking for cold storage. Sutter health says they invested 100,0 100,000 on 14 freezers. This is necessary because that vaccine is required to be stored at negative 70 degrees.
