Yeah, police were blocking streets as officers monitored an armed person locked inside a home. The red that you see on were locked down, including an elemenry school. The School Canceled claes today. Since early this morning, neighbors have been unable to come and go as they wish. Then about 130 this afternoon, remaining residents were asked to leave the area altogether. Police say the situation is now resolved. Some neighbors say they started hearing gunshots about 9 00 last night. I one, i started hearing more shots and i looked around. You know what i always think its always fireworks, but it really wasnt. It was a it was gunshots. And then it kept going out like every hour. And by like around three i started hearing them say, oh, can you uh leo ortega, you must come out with your hands up and a weapon. No weapons in hand. Now, its not confirmed whether Law Enforcement took anyone into custody. However, residents say they saw a man taken away in an ambulance with two sheriffs units following. In vallejo, a target store still closed as arson investigators work to recover Surveillance Video and search for a suspect. Someone set a fire inside the store over the weekend. Abc seven News Reporter Leslie Brinkley is in vallejo. It was a paper towels that were lit on fire, and an employee was attempting to put it out with a fire extinguisher. The paper towel aisle at this target store went up in flames just before 3 00 on saturday afternoon. Teenagers shot video on his cell phone inside the crowded vallejo target. I was in the toothpaste aisle and i turned to my right and there was just like flames all in the paper towel aisle. I saw a paper flying in the air and i called my mom and we started to evacuate. Smoke was visible from outside the store on admiral callaghan lane when six fire engines arrived. Vallejo fire released a statement saying a quick and organized response by target employees can be credited with preventing injuries to store patrons. There was one person treated for minor smoke inhalation by ambulance crews. Fire dispatch got numerous 911 calls as the store alarm tripped and sprinklers turned on. Can you believe that . Someone tried to set the place on fire . And i was like, well, its vallejo, like this. Mom was there on saturday during the fire and returned today, shocked that the store was still closed as fire cleaning crews lined up out front and put up fencing across the front doors. Meanwhile, police and arson investigators are gathering Surveillance Video as they search for the suspect who set the fire. Its scary and its upsetting that Something Like that would happen, but im not shocked. Target issued a statement saying we are grateful that no one was injured. The store will be closed temporarily during repairs and restock toxic smoke from burning plastic may have ruined a lot of merchandise from clothing items to Food Products, the Solano County Health Department will determine what Food Products should be removed and destroyed, and damage to merchandise in the structure is expected to be over 1 million. Organizers want to raise awareness and promote resources for those dealing with addiction. The group included community activists, mayor london breed, and people who successfully completed treatment programs. Doesnt matter if youre white, black, asian, latin american, it doesnt matter. The mayor told the crowd that on average, two people a day die in San Francisco from overdoses last year was the deadliest year on record for drug deaths in the city, and today, San Francisco mayoral candidate daniel lurie announced a new six part plan to tackle the citys ongoing drug and Mental Health crisis. He says the city has failed to address Public Safety effectively. The agencies responsible for community safety, Public Health and our unhoused population are not coordinating. That was lurie today at a News Conference breaking down his plan to address homelessness, drug dealing, drug addiction and Mental Health. The plan includes hiring more Behavioral Health and Law Enforcement officers to get people off the streets and into treatment facilities, lurie is running against mayor breed and former supervisor mark farrell to the east. Bay cities are investigating this afternoon after they were both hit by Cyber Attacks. But the city of oakley and the city of Pleasant Hill are still recovering. Ama now, Contra Costa County Officials Say a full forensic analysis is currently being conducted to determine where exactly the Cyber Attacks came from. They tell me, while theyre still not 100 sure they are looking into whether these two incidents are related. Two more bay area cities are falling victim to another round of Cyber Attacks. The Contra Costa County cities of oakley and Pleasant Hill, both hit on thursday. Right now, what theyre doing is conducting, conducting a Forensic Audit of the situation. So that they can kind of see what happened in Pleasant Hill, the Police Department says the incident directly hit the citys computer infrastructure and in oakley, officials there declared a local emergency immediately following their attack. As of monday, they tell abc seven news. While some departments have returned to nearly normal levels, others are still being impacted by the attack. Things are coming back online. Um, their belief is things are controlled, but things are always gradual, be brought back up. Uh to check in and make sure that security is indeed, uh, wont be compromised. Cyber attacks like these against local governments are becoming increasingly common. Just last year, oakland was devastated by a major Ransomware Attack that crippled the city for weeks. Its really a financial motive for these, you know, bad actors was they want to intrude into the network, they want to lock down data and systems and then demand ransom payment. Sarhuda is a cybersecurity expert and the ceo of cyber catch. He says given the growing trend of Cyber Attacks on smaller governments, its important for them to be prepared. Generally they will look for the consumer data that involve, you know, high value. So theyre looking for Social Security numbers. But drivers license information. Contra costa Officials Say while theyve improved Cyber Security measures across the county in recent years, theyre always looking to do more a job that falls both on elected officials and individuals. Its so important whether it work or at home or on our phones , that we are being very careful about the things that we open, uh, the sites that we, uh, go to for and Cyber Security experts say there are several steps local governments can take to improve their overall preparedness. That includes things like making sure their standards comply with federal guidelines and running tests to ensure that their systems are prepared in the event of a real cyber attack. As far as i know, we have two deputies and a juvenile in the water. I dont know if we have additional people in the water at this time. Okay. Are the deputies injured . Not that im aware of. Officials say it was actually an adult woman. The two Sonoma County sheriffs deputies, Sergeant Gary larson and deputy cody mccready, were trying to rescue from the super cold river. Two deputies and the victim were basically clinging on to a bush in the middle of very fast moving water. Captain spiegel says its not clear how the woman got into the river. The district Swiftwater Rescue Team launched their boats, but minutes later they knew this rescue wouldnt be easy. One thing First Responders did not expect when they got here is to have the victim fight them off. The sheriffs Department Says the victim was trying to push the deputies underwater when the rescue team arrived at one point when the lady was fighting, the deputies, and then she started fighting me. I had to reach down and i was able to get a good grip on her arm, and i was able to pull her into the boat. But when you add somebody whos combative at the same time, um, it adds a whole new level of complexity. My understanding at this point is that she may have been intoxicated. Both deputies were in the water for about 25 minutes before being pulled to safety. Both deputies out of the water and the rescue boat enroute to Johnsons Beach appear to be wet, tired, but okay. We were just happy to be there and help them out, you know . Hats off to those guys for jumping in and trying to save someones life. Bringing the deputies on board that boat and bringing them to safety immediately. There was a lot of gratitude, a lot of thanks. The victim is recovering in the hospital, and sheriffs Officials Say she faces arrest on multiple charges, including assault on deputies and firefighters. In guerneville.
