We were telling you that there were two teenagers trapped on this hillside because the hillside was crumbling. They have beenfighters that were able to get the teenagers safely off that hillside. A 15 and 16 year old siblings that wandered in this area and found themselves in a precarious situation when the cliff started to crumble. Firefighters were able to successfully get the teens off the hillside. We hear theyre in Good Condition and being checked out. For riders the delays are frustrating. A rough start for east bay bart riders after report of a fire believed to be an electrical arc outside of a train that disrupted the morning commute. Some riders say delays are happening more than theyd like. Enough to be annoying because you want to get, you want to go somewhere and then pow, then like this morning i wasnt going to take bart. Reporter several stations were shut down during the incident. . Couple passengers apparently tried to evacuate that train by themselves. Three people. Three people were injured. Got out of the train. The Fire Department responded to the scene. We were able to get the people back on the train. Reporter bart says the injuries were relatively minor repairs were made to the track. A Home Invasion robbery ended with the shooting of a homeowner in san leandro. As many as three suspects broke into a mans home at 3 00 in the morning. It happened on lake view drive. The homeowner confronted the men with a shotgun. It turns out the shotgun, though, wasnt loaded. We dont think he knew that. He is accused of having a violent confrontation with his exfiance while she was holding their infant son. At current case unfolds fbs in order to hold mr. Reporter youre looking at the aftermath of whats become a fourth of july tradition in the city of vallejo. The annual Fireworks Show put on by six flags discovery kingdom. It is a tradition, but at what cost . Reporter the mess left behind has environmentalists exploding with disgust. This isnt just response. Reporter darling took us on a tour of lake shabow located close to where the fireworks were launched. We saw the litter first hand. A lot of the debris has settled into the weeds along the lake. Its hard to see, but when you fish down with the net, see what we pull out . Cardboard and plastic, apparently remnants left over from the show. Darling worries about the impact it will have on the wildlife that call the lake home. And hes not the only one concerned. Good citizens would pick up their debris, so that would be expected. Reporter vallejos fire chief says the city is looking into the matter and will weigh its options. We need to make the show as good for the environment as goosegood for the folks who watch it. Reporter discovery kingdom says it intends to clean up and says that the fireworks are made of mostly biodegradable compounds. But its not good enough for darling. Id like to see the city of vallejo create an ordinance to prevent this from happening at lake shabow. Reporter the city says it will look into all of its options. A cleanup crew has not been out here yet this week but will be very soon. Meanwhile, environmentalist ed darling says hes not going to wait. Hes organized his own clean up effort. The local kayak club will be out here to clean up the debris. New at 6 00 san jose says the chemicals are costing money and wants monsanto to pay for it. They are alleging that chemicals once made by monsanto are polluting local water. The city says it costs money to clean up the water before it goes into the bay and wants compensation for those cleaning fees. Monsanto says it no longer makes the chemical and is not responsible. Added labor force will help clear up the backlog of ships and cargo. The long shore labor union gave the go ahead. The extra employees are only a temporary addition. In the winter when it rains in the bay area, theres a good chance it snows in the sierra. And even though its july it happened today. Nbc bay areas reporter david bee neck joins us. Reporter once the storm let up, cal trans crews used shovels to clear culverts under highway 50 that had been clogged with mud and rocks. We have showers off to the south that will likely be moving in on the reno side as we head throughout the next hour or so. Meanwhile, were beginning to get in on the action. Really think this could continue as we head throughout the next three to four hours tonight. So some decent, wet weather for you in the north bay to help at least to lower that fire danger.
