Reporter yeah, hard to tell where we are, frankly, looked like its the plains. You would think at the bottom of the bay we would see one mountain range. Look behind me, santa cruz mountains, kind of, sort of, theyre not there. The east foothills, eh, not much to see there either. Up along the peninsula, thats a good overlook, couldnt even see San Francisco bay just three and a half miles away. And Health Officials are not calling it an immediate imminent health hazard, but if you do have a respiratory condition, you probably want to stay indoors. The haze and smoke drifting from lake county has a strong smell, and thats leading many people to call their local Fire Department to report suspected fires nearby. It is startling. And, you know, the smell is the worst. And its kind of frightening. And when you see fire engines going um and down your street patrolling the neighborhood, its concerning. We have investigations in our jurisdiction. When you couple it with the other two neighboring jurisdictions, around 20 so far. Which is a larger number than normal. Because typically we dont have this in the area. Turned out all of them have been investigated and nothings panned out yet. Reporter bay area air Quality Management district has issued a spare the air day alert, for sunday asking people to refrain from driving if possible. Third spare the air day so far this year. Allows all of that air to sink, and that sinking traps all of the pollutants in the lower part of the atmosphere, strong, High Pressure, light wind is going to lead to another uncomfortable, at least as far as air quality goes, east bay and south bay expecting to see the worst air quality. Four homes were destroyed by that fire. No one was seriously injured. Officials have reopened a campground where two young were killed yesterday. The victims died when a tree limb fell on their tent at the popular upper pines campground, thats near half dome. Strangers are trying to determine what caused that accident. A forester inspects the trees in the park. Theyre not saying when they were last suspected. Both were under the age of 18. They have not been identified. Half a city without pressurized water, its happening right now in vallejo. Major water main broke early this morning, water spilled out into the streets and in many homes, faucets are barely running. With the temperatures you could use water. Going to be like this for a while too. We are live in vallejo, and does the city have any idea how this happened . Well no, they dont. Right now what theyre doing is working on trying to restore that water pressure. They have crews from the city of vallejo out here working on it. What theyre telling us is that main is shut off, tens of thousands of people here in vallejo have no water. Some have no water at all. Now the city is saying there was al 20minute water main break. The break was reported Near Railroad tracks by broadway and quite a few valves need to be located and turned off. There was a major impact. Residents saying they had just a trickle of water in the shower or some said they had nothing at all. The city stresses the water is safele to drink outside the affected area, but Drinking Water is being distributed at two fire stations for those who want it. With the main off, some residents will notice another change. Previously we had low water pressure but some water, likely not have any water for a period of time. Were working to isolate the imprint of that and we are currently trying to restore some water to residents that may have been without or had that low water pressure. Now through all of this, an Emergency Operation center has been activated and support is being provided by neighboring Fire Departments, but these water venders have 2 to 3,000 gallons of water. Los gatos officials were going to shut down access to two streets to limit beach traffic cutting through their town. They want people to stop using surface streets when highway 17 backs up.
