Armym foiled a terrorist attack on a france plan last week. They were given frances medal of honor on monday. Later, he received more honors by walking on the red carpet in france. This is unreal. Two days ago, we were just on the train. And two days later, all this has happened. Its crazy. Its unreal to his neighbor who watched him grow up. I have to hug him. The suspect terrorist was in paris today in court. He was led into a courtroom. You can see there, barefoot, blindfolded and wearing hospital scrubs. Moments before he walked through the train, he watched a jihadi video on his cell phone. His intent was, quote, to kill a whole trainful of people. And his footprint shows intent. An attorney who represented him, said that he was only going to rob that train. Not just any terroriourist location. A man was sightseeing on lombard street. For the thieves, its a gold mine. He was shot in the arm at one of San Franciscos most popular tourist attractions. And the violence triggered a highspeed chase and a search in the east bay. Cell phone video captures people caring for the man, after a robbery turned violent. Police say the man fought a thief for his camera. And one of two suspects shot him. Its scary. The gunmen fired three shots around jones and lombard. Shots. And you know, in this great city that we have here. For this to happen. Tourism, you know, thats unfortunate. Tour bus driver says the shooting victim was his passenger. Part of a group of military pilots from thailands Royal Air Force that landed at Travis Air Force base this morning. Thank god hes okay. The bullet penetrated his left arm. It came in and went out the other side. Were hoping that there was no bone fracture or injury. Just flesh. Reporter while the shaken visitors tended to their friend, sfpd chased the gunman and another suspect across the bay bridge. The highspeed chase ended when the man crashed the car. And police launched a massive search. The police did their job. And were glad they found who they were looking for. Both suspects are in custody tonight. Julie christensen replaced a statement saying the violence is disturbing. And she is working to increase Police Staffing at the police department. No plea for a man accused of killing a police officer. 21yearold mark estrada made his second appearance before a judge. He is charged with murder of a special circumstances, last month during a traffic stop. Dozens of Police Officers showed up to show their support for the family. We support them, that we care about them. That scott was part of our family, as well. And hes not going to be forgotten. The case has been continued until october 8th to give his new attorney time to review the case. Great schools. Nice neighborhoods. Its the site for a sex trafficking ring that had been running for more than a decade. James joseph jr. And his common law wife led a sex trafficking ring for 14 years. This was centered in san ramon and danville. But stretched to cleveland, miami and new york. The operation scored thousands of dollars each week. Where do they go . New developments on where to house the homeless. The new proposed site is at the former air force station near 101 and 237. Thats about seven miles from the original site that was proposed, near downtown sunnyvale. The new site could house 100 homeless people. The change came after many people in sunnyvale voiced concerns of having a shelter near their homes and schools. Dozens of people asked them to approve the change of location. Its not that its not near a residential area. Its more avenues of the homeless to get to where they needed to go to for the day. Santa clara plans to invest 1. 3 million in the temporary shelter. The Sunnyvale City Council will vote on this issue next week. Temporary relief for people who live in mobile home parks. San jose city counsel a moratorium on closing any mobile home parks for six months. That will give the city time to revise an outdated ordnance. If you need a new one, your chance of getting one before the rains come are slim to none. And you mentioned the reason, el nino. Its not easy to think of rain, in the midst of a historic drought. But Melissa Crosby is thinking ahead. It needed to be done. With el nino coming, sped up the process. An important update on el nino. 95 chance and higher. Reporter the word is out about the likelihood of a very wet winter. And Roofing Companies say phones began ringing back in may, months earlier than in a normal year. Panic. Reporter randy brown says the flood of phone calls is not all good news. When people call now, we tell them we cant help them until next year. And thats difficult to do sometimes. Some people we talked to believe an el nino is on the way. I havent prepped for it yet. But i plan to. And i really, really hope we get it. We need so much rain in california, its unreal. Some doubt the forecast. Just had rain come out of nowhere. For those desperate for a roof, a word of caution. If theres a roofer that isnt busy, thats a red flag. When it comes to the forecast, were relaying all of the information from the supercomputers that crunch the numbers and the data on what could be happening. A 95 chance that el nino would happen through win winter. Warmer weather in the midwest. And back here towards california, the rainfall. We keep talking about it. How much could we get . Right now, its showing an bav average chance of rainfall. Thats usually the case. Southern california, los angeles, gets the brunt of impacts from el nino. For the bay area, an average rainfall situation. The other thing you want to look at is the strength of el nino. Right now, its trending at the very strong length. So, historically, when we look back at el ninos that are very strong, 8283, 9798, we had 8 to 10 inches above rainfall. Its good reason that people are getting prepared with their roofs. Lets look at the morning forecast. Temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s. Check out our San Francisco camera right now. The fog is rolling in thick. Of course, those low clouds will remain until 10 00 in the morning. The other thing we have happening, is High Pressure across the desert southwest. Theres thunderstorms associated with it. Well be in the clear from that. Tomorrow, well find areas of hot temperatures and High Pressure. I dont think it will be supermuggy out there. But noticeable for us. Now, what we have been tracking for the last three days. Thats a storm system developing up near canada. Off the coastline of washington and oregon. 948 miles away. Yes, this is not expected to be a major storm system for us. But we do expect impacts from this. The latest data for us, shows us that the storm track will be lifting to the north. We do expect some impacts from this. But its not going to be heavy, widespread rainfall. It would happen on saturday. The best chance would be the north bay and were talking about trace amounts at this point. The prospect of getting heavy rainfall, just dwindled today. Lets look at the microclimate forecast. The sunny skies in san jose. 87 degrees. It will get hotter in morgan hill. 94 tomorrow. 85 in palo alto. 77 in san mateo. And San Francisco, 76 in the mission. And 73 in the financial district. For the trivalley, nice day with upper 80s for the east bay. 77 in oakland. Pass through the caldecott tunnel, walnut creek, temperatures go to the low 90s. And across the trivalley, our hottest temperatures will be in pleasanton with 94 degrees. We stay with the high weather in friday. Saturday, a 10degree drop in temperatures.
