First of all, we had the motorcycle crash mid span, we didnt get the all clear from the chp or bridge crew but did see traffic start to move. San mateo bridge is slow along that flat section. Now, some more folks have hit through the hayward area and may have shifted through the dumbarton bridge as an alternate and in that theres a crash south 880 at industrial parkway blocking lanes there. On the peninsula the other side of the san mateo bridge we have a crash north 101 around broadway slowing you in towards San Francisco. We will give you a bigger look coming up. This as investigators now say the suspect has confessed. Last night thousands attended a vigil in parkland. They remembered the victims including a football coach, a future College Swimmer and a National Merit scholarship finalist. Investigators are revealing more about the 19yearold suspect. They say he took an uber to the school he once attended with a legally purchased Assault Rifle hidden in a duffle bag. The suspect is now on suicide watch. President trump is expected to visit parkland tomorrow. Happening today, many Tamalpais High School students will march after school to raise awareness. Happening today parents will rally at a south Bay High School against the construction of portable classrooms. They say it will just add more students to a campus thats already busting at the seams. About equality theyre saying and this rally is expected to start in a couple of hours. Some parents contacted the nbc bay area Investigative Unit saying they believe the district is overcrowding this school to keep test scores higher at the districts other middle school. Parents at Don Callejon School say instead of putting more portables on their campus the district should open enrollment at our middle schools and pay for the busing for students to get them there. They say by overcrowding one campus they are failing to meet the needs of underperforming students and they are accusing the district of doing this on purpose as a way to keep test scores higher at other campuses. For some reason they are choosing to make the student population at Don Callejon Middle School their density to be almost ten times that of the student population density at the highest performing school. There is a 200 person wait list at peterson. I say why is there a wait list because they have all kinds of property to put portables on. Shouldnt everybody had portables, especially if they have more space. Reporter here is a look at santa claras unified student density. At Peterson Middle School there are 18 students per acre compared with don callejon which has 134 students per acre. Buchser has 32 and cabrillo has 37. They say about the portables, quote, this was not an easy decision for the board to make, however, the sentiment expressed by the board was to avoid displacing students to middle school sites further away from their homes and felt this was the best and most fair interim solution. California lawmakers including several from the bay area are introducing measures aimed to better protect renters from evictions. If the measures eventually pass, landlords would face tougher thresholds to evict, requiring them to present just cause. This theater is super important to me. I spent quite a bite of time here watching movies in these seats right here in the theater, you know, watching movies nonstop.
