So we cannot act as though this were just some kind of Natural Disaster or a matter of course for this country or the new normal for the united states. There is a very real cause to this. And President Trump is part of that. Orourke left the campaign trail in nevada yesterday to return to his hometown. He praised the city for rallying to help the victims by donating blood and food. Mitch mcconnell is also being called on to act. A growing number of Congressional Democrats are urging mcconnell to call a special session to the senate can approve a new background bill that has already cleared the house. Senators from across the country say they would rush back to washington to deal with this crisis, but its up to mcconnell to cancel the senates august recess. It started out as a summer job, but it took a surprising turn for one bay area man. How he was able to turn his job as a caddy into a path for college. Lots of sunshine. Temperatures right now in concord still 90 degrees. But that might be tougher to come by as we go through the week, tracking a cool down on the way when we come right back. The dreams of those who aspire to go to college can often dim once they see that giant price tag. The reality is that for some the price is just out of reach. But one College Bound bay area man is actually in the green. Ive always played sports. I played basketball and soccer. If there is a lesson to life i played for my varsity team. It is that sometimes you have to follow where it leads. Even if its not the course you intended. Which is how this San Francisco High School Student unexpectedly went from a gymnasium to a golf course. Ive never played any golf in my life. Ive never watched it or anything. Despite initially not knowing a 9 iron from a putter, he spent his last three summers carrying golf bags across this course. Here you are, sir. Rileys path to golf came through the enterprise for Youth Program which helps young people find jobs. He found a job as a caddy, often waking up before dawn to get to the course. I think one of the skills of being a caddy is just being able to have a conversation with the golfer. What do you guys need as a company . His ultimate dream was to go to college, but like many other young people, that dream seemed out of reach. I think the main issue, i guess, for me is there was very little funds for college. But what started as a summer job took a surprising bounce. A group called the evans foundation, which awards scholarships to young caddies of modest means discovered mccall and chose him for a full ride. Later this summer, mccall will trade in his smock for the colors of the university of washington. This has allowed me to go to College Without taking on thousands and thousands of dollars in debt. The idea of caddies might sound like an odd path to college, but it was started in 1930 by chick evans and put thousands through college while driving home new skills. Affords you opportunities to learn about, you know, demonstrate hard work, communication skills. So if there is a lesson here, its that sometimes when life swings left, you just have to roll with it. Is that thing to say, tenol dont they want to know if you drive it yourself . Yeah. It takes a whole team, really, to get that truck out there. It was great weather for that. A little bit hot, though, out there on the Festival Grounds and out towards concord this weekend. We have been seeing temperatures in the 90s. But not upper 90s, which is where things were around this time on saturday. So temperatures starting the downward trend as we get back to the start of the workweek. Look at that visibility. 79 degrees. Winds picking up now. So you will probably need a life jacket by 8 00 tonight. San francisco right now, you got sunshine, but that strong sea breeze keeping temperatures in the mid60s. Winds out of the west at 20 miles an hour. The spread of temperatures weve grown pretty akccustomed to. The highs starting to come down a bit. Slight cooling today on the order of 5 to 7 degrees cooler from livermore to concord. Really not much of a temperature change for San Francisco and out near the coast. You had a wind speed of 15 miles an hour. We will get closer to 40 around sfo. And those onshore winds bringing in low clouds and possibly some wet, damp roadways here along the coast for San Francisco as the low clouds are forced to rise up over the hills. In fact, some of the future cast brings measurable drizzle. Again, this future cost goes through 7 00 tomorrow evening. But what you are seeing here will be coming down between midnight. Well wake up to high clouds. Thats the interesting part of the fore cast. Tomorrow 50s to start the day. Well watch our highs tomorrow. Pretty close to what we had tomorrow. Low to mid80s. Upper 80s now closer to mor gain hill and the tri valleys. Moving away from the 90s. Concord and antioch still in the 80s. A bit breezy in the afternoon where we will see 60s and 70s. Highs in the mid60s with increasing high clouds during the day. There you see the highs in the mid80s. So we got the low clouds. Well contend with that for the morning. Look at that on the future clouds. Clouds moving away from a weakening system here off the coast. And this might crank up the muggy factor just a little bit late tomorrow into tuesday. You can see on the future cast no showers. But over us. So if you focus out here on the areas of green on this map, its an indicator of moisture. Perhaps humidity thrown in. But temperatures will start to cool down. It may feel a little sticky outside monday afternoon, but the temperatures will be trending downward. San francisco low to mid60s and valleys away from those mid90s to mid80s. Trending cooler with more clouds to start the week. And that will be the third weekend in row where temperatures start to climb. Perfect for all those outdoor plans. So we get a break in between. Yes. Very good. Thach thanks, rob.
