Theyre going to remove the final body, bring them to shore and they have to work to reorient the vessel. Its inverted on the bottom of the ocean. Reporter crews will map out and secure the boat underwater before pulling it up. Its like you would have with an aircraft disaster, you have to bring the parts all the parts and try to put them together as best as you can and work to try and solve the problem of what happened. Reporter the ntsb is leading the investigation into what went wrong. Investigators say they conducted extensive interviews with some of the five surviving crew members and they are very cooperative. They met with victims loved ones. I cant imagine what those families are going through right now. It is heart breaking. This was a horrific tragedy. Reporter we continue to see people coming in and supporting those family members at memorials out here at the harbor. Investigators have requested toxicology tests for the crew members. They lived here in this neighborhood and late this afternoon vickie told me she feels numb, but shes come fofo knowing her husband and daughter lived a life of passion and purpose. She become a certified diver when she was 12 inspired by her father. The father and daughter often took dive trips together and stepped aboard the conception Labor Day Weekend for what was supposed to be their last trip together of the year. Scotts wife dropped them off early monday. She learned about the fire. I knew that was their boat and then panic set in at that point. Reporter this tells us that the jury hasnt made up their mind when it comes to the tenant. Today they requested from the court that they want to hear a read back of portions of testimony from the fire captain. Youre probably wondering who is george freeland. He worked a block away from the warehouse and he testified that he was given a tour of the warehouse two years before the deadly fire that killed 36 people. He testified when he testified inside exhib inside, he noticed that the warehouse was parked with rvs and pianos that posed a fire risk. He asked if people were living in the warehouse and he was told no. He h internal database for information about the warehouse and could not find any. He said he filed a report with the Fire Prevention bureau asking for clarification and more information, but he never heard back and he said he never followed up. San francisco based lyft is being accused of caring more about profits than the safety of their passengers. In a new lawsuit 14 women accuse lyft of not properly conducting background checks on drivers or protecting passengers from danger and Getting Police involved when something bad does happen. When it gets allegations of Sexual Assault, it turns those allegations over to professionals, the Police Department who are trained thirdparty neutrals. In a statement lyft says it is committed to providing safe transportation and on its website writes we screen every single driver and active drivers need to pass another background check every 12 months. The group is urging people to vote no on prop c this november that would overturn the ban and its a proposition largely funded by jule.
