Coming up, we go live to washington to talk with chuck todd and get a preview of this weeks meet the press. Plus she got a peloton but now moving on. The woman in that now viral peloton ad has something to say. Well show you next. My parents never taught me anything about managing money. The amount of Student Loan Debt i have, im embarrassed to even say. We just decided we didnt want debt any longer. I didnt realize how easy investing could be. Im Picking Companies that i believe in. I think sofi money is amazing. Thank you sofi. Sofi thank you, we love you. Welcome back. We are joined in the studio with our political analyst Larry Gerston and as always time for our weekly chat with chuck todd, nbc news political director and moderator of meet the press. Thanks for joining us. Good morning. We are on the heels of Nancy Pelosis announcement to move forward with the impeachment and im wondering what you think, how much pressure this impeachment is putting on the vulnerable democrats and republicans in congress and even on the white house itself. Well, look, when you watch the show today, its clearly front of mind. I have jerry nadler, who of course is the chairman of the house judiciary committee, and he sort of, when i asked, are you going to be comfortable drafting an article of impea impeachment you think does not have near unanimous support among democrats and he paused a little bit, and so i think that that is going to be the debate this week of i think there is some thought among democrats that they maybe go ahead and draft three, four, maybe five articles of impeachment, and allow some democrats to vote against some of them. Thats what republicans did that for some moderate republicans who were in swing districts during the clinton impeachment. Four came out of the judiciary committee, only two got voted out of the house so that may be one way they try to alleviate some pain for moderate members who believe ukraine, what happened with ukraine is impeachment but want to show some distance from the mueller report, for instance. Umhum. Chuck, a trump attorney, Rudy Giuliani, is at it again, currently in ukraine to expose evidence allegedly of democratic corruption during the 2016 president ial election. Does his latest move add value to the democratic impeachment case, subtract from it or is it just a distraction from the core issues . I look, larry, you know, its funny. We all think here in washington we know exactly whats going to happen over the next six weeks, the house is going to impeach, the senate is going to acquit. To me wild card one is the president , right . Because you never know what hes going to do, say or tweet but to me, the other wild card is Rudy Giuliani. You have the investigation thats going on thats active, Southern District of new york. You have them, two of his associates may or may not be cooperating. There is he to me is the wild card in all of us over the next eight weeks. A lot of republicans on capitol hill are as uncomfortable with what Rudy Giuliani is doing as some democrats are. I think that is i think that is the wild card in all of this. I dont think any of us know how giulianis travels play in all of this but his legal trouble, all of that, it cant be helpful. Turning to the democratic president ial candidate, minorities provided 74 of the 2016 democratic president ial vote. Now, with californias Kamala Harris out of the race, all six current qualified candidates as you know for the december 19th debate in los angeles are white. Does that lack of diversity portend a turnout of minorities in november . Tell me what the ticket is going to look like, larry. I think this is a criticism its too soon to tell. I think ultimately if the ticket isnt die verks, i think thversa problem but we dont know the question to that yet. Basically the president would be white but they could choose a more diverse Vice President to run with . Larry im convinced we know who the running mate will be, the nominee is. Stacy abrams in georgia, we know the running mate. Is it warren, buttigieg, bloomberg, klobuchar. I felt there was some answer boiling under there. Chuck todd thanks for your insight. We really do appreciate your time. Thanks, guys. Join chuck for this mornings meet the press. Hell have an interview with representative jerry nadler and exclusive interviews with senator ted cruz and representative denny heck. Tune in to meet the press at 8 00 a. M. After this u. S. Incast. Larry will be back in 40 minutes for our weekly commitical segment and were shifting gears a little bit, in light of the recent mass shooting at the Florida Naval base, well look at current status of gun control. Well see you soon for that, larry larry, thanks. The date is set, thousands of Mental Health workers at kaiser will be striking this month. And lightening up the mood now t is the exercise bike commercial that still has people talking and now the actress who plays the wife in pelotons viral holiday ad is starring in an ad for aviation gin. To new beginnings. Actor Ryan Reynolds and owner of aviation gin tracked down the socalled peloton girl. If you were watching saturday night live the commercial got a mention in the opening skit. All right, now to a magical Winter Wonderland, what families experienced at sfo this weekend.
