Counties are in the purple tier and i want to break down what that means whether you live in the county or do not. Take a look at the list of counties on the list of items on your screen. This is the restrictions for the counties in purple. Items on the left are businesses required to operate outside. They include restaurants, wineries, gyms, museums, zoos, card rooms and places of worship. Those items on the right side can continue indoors. Malls and retail shops can continue inside but at 25 capacity. Beauty shops, barber shops and other personal Care Services can remain inside as long as youre following the appropriate protocols. Keep in mind all of this is a minimum. Some counties are able to do additional restrictions. Thats exactly what happened in San Francisco. Theyve already ended indoor dining. But as it stands now for those counties in red, wineries and card rooms for those three counties must stay outdoors. Again, thats for the counties in red. Churches, movie theaters are allowed to remain inside at a reduced capacity. Now it is important to note that schools are kind of in their own category. Schools that are open can stay open. Schools that have not opened are not allowed to reopen. Its a lot of information. This is to encourage families to get tested before gathering next week with other people for thanksgiving meals. Contra costa, alameda, santa clara, napa and solano counties are going back into the purple tier, the most restrictive tier of reopening because covid19 cases have increased too much in these areas. Under purple and red tiers youre supposed to only celebrate with your family unless you do it outdoors, then no more than three families. Contra costa county understands families might ignore this guidance, hence the testing before Turkey Campaign launching this morning. Even if you do adhere to the guidelines of three families outdoors, the state recommends gatherings should be kept short and highrisk individuals should not attend. The rain inching closer and closer. Yeah, were really excited about getting this rain because its not interrupting our weekend, and its much needed. So we are going to see it moving from north to south and also going to come along with some much cooler temperatures and theres a pretty good amount of some moisture in the atmosphere for this cold front to tap into to bring us some muchneeded rainfall especially for the north bay. As we track it with storm ranger, thats our mobile doppler radar, the red scan youre seeing right there not close enough to really be picked up on storm ranger but were making plans for the day. If youre home schooling and looking for the opportunity to get outside we are going to see some of the showers making it there by late morning. So if you can get outside a little bit sooner than that you may be able to beat the rain and take a break before we go into the off and on showers well see today. Lets go through the time line. In the north bay well start to see the rain moving in. By about 10 00 to 11 00 and then as we go into the afternoon we start to see the rain pushing to the south. It wont be as heavy, were still looking at a pretty good amount of rain here for the east bay as well as the peninsula. The south bay will get some light amounts of rain as this moves on through and then notice as we go into late tonight and early tomorrow theres still some activity and it may linger into tomorrow afternoon with a chance of some spotty showers that will come along with some cool temperatures. Well be tracking that as we go into today. Looking at how much rain to expect, most of us south of the Golden Gate Bridge will get anywhere from about a tenth to an inch of rain in the south bay, possibly up to over half inch of rain. But then as we go to the north bay theres going to be a little bit more in terms of rainfall totals as we look at parts like mill valley getting an inch and a quarter possibly and santa rosa a little bit closer to an inch of rain. As we go through this forecast temperature today reaching the low 60s and some low 60s for tomorrow but the rain breaking up a bit. Then thursday were all dry and as we go into the weekend well see the temperatures reaching into the low 60s. Weekend plans outside are looking good but youll need to wear a jacket and its going to be chilly during the Early Morning hours for San Francisco. Expect mostly some upper 50s and low 60s.
