About the north bay coming up. Two coronavirus vaccines appear to be getting close to a fullscale production and some breaking news this morning a third player just announcing promising results with its vaccine. Bob redell is joining live with a covid test in pleasanton with those developments. Good morning, marcus. Astrazeneca and the university of oxford Just Announced that its vaccine is safe and triggering a similar immune response in all adults. This is according to preliminary data from a phase two trial that was just published. Pfizer say a final Data Analysis of their vaccines have found that it is 95 effective. Thats higher than initial results suggested. The companys plan to submit an application for emergency use in days and how to ship tens of millions of doses across the country and what would be well below zero temperatures for the vaccine to be effective. Also, how to convince skeptical citizens to get the vaccine. A vast majority would have to be vaccinated to achieve, herd immunity. Blue ribbon Vaccine Commission may help ease some of those concerns. I would just expect that review would be fairly quick and give another layer of certainty to the results that were earlier today. I dont trust this. As i say, im not a person that like to take medications anyways. Im not going to take it until i see what the results were from the other people. If the response is good, only then ill take it. As early as next month frontline workers could be getting the vaccine followed by Senior Citizens who live in Retirement Homes but herd immunity depends on young people getting vaccinated, as well. Since front line workers and the elderly would be vaccinated first, the younger people wouldnt even be offered a vaccine until perhaps the spring. Well, wonder woman of our own meteorologist kari hall always getting the best when it comes to that forecast. You know whats going on, right, kari . Well, thank you. We are going to start out with some fog this morning as we use our laser beam eyes to see what is going on out there with our fog. And, of course, you are driving to work this morning. You wanted to use those low beams and dont turn on the high beams because it just reflects the lights off the fog and makes it harder to see and youll need that in the trivalley as were seeing visibility cut down to a quarter mile as we check out whats happening in the north bay. Dense fog advisories in the valleys and visibility down to about a quarter of a mile so that doesnt give you much stopping distance. As we get a look at whats going on. Going hour by hour. Checking out our temperatures. Were going to see our morning start mostly in the 50s and then as we take a look at our noontime temperature, 58 degrees in dublin and in the north bay, were also in the upper 50s. Then as we go into today, we only make it into the low 60s, which is about normal for the middle to end of november. And then we are going to dip back down, once again, tonight. Maybe even cooler tomorrow morning compared to this morning because that blanket of fog actually helps to keep our temperatures a little bit warmer. But i wanted to talk about warmer temperatures as we look at how weve changed with Climate Change over the past several decades since 1970. In San Francisco, our wintertime temperatures have warmed on average over three degrees. So thats part of the reason why we dont see as much fog because cooler temperatures condenses a lot faster and produces more fog. So, some people were asking, why dont we see as much fog in San Francisco as we used to. All right. So, as we look at what is coming down the line, we may have some more foggy mornings but overall not going to see much in the way of rain. Were going to see those storm systems staying to the north of us and temperatures staying in the 60s even into thanksgiving. Mike, youve been watching the fogs impact on the commute. Any issues popping up. Definitely. I mean, the fact that its there at all, kari. Thank you for the fog facts. That was fascinating. Looking over towards the roadways and we are looking at the maps where the traffic doesnt indicate a problem. We have green sensors over much of the area and also show a clear map. Look there are patches with the orange like over in the trivalley right here and highway 84 and folks cutting through that area and thats especially tough to see. We know from our live cameras weve shown dublin camera there and tough to see as that fog drifts around and also patches through the north bay. Look at the san rafael camera now.
