Democrats and republicans together have come up with a compromise if you have Unemployment Insurance and put another 300 a week in your pocket. It would also provide 160 billion for state and local governments. The Paycheck Protection Program would be extended. The Small Business loans and there would also be money to help out transit and airlines, which have been hard hit by this economic crisis. Bottom line, democrats and republicans are still trying to come up with a compromise that everyone will sign off on. Finally this week were seeing cracks starting to form in the Democratic Leaders stone wall. An effort to jump start serious negotiations. So thats where they are now. They jump started negotiations. So, what exactly is happening there . Well, to start with, they got rid of Outdoor Dining last week in the city of los angeles. Actually issued a modified stayathome order wednesday and echoes what the county issued on monday. The city order bans gatherings of people outside of immediate households with some exceptions like religious service and protest. Governor newsom hosted a Conference Call with members of various cabinets wednesday to work out details of what could be more restrictions. A representative with the National Federation of independent businesses was on that call with the governor and tells nbc bay area we should expect an announcement in a day or so for businesses already working to adapt to changes after entering the purple tier, this is yet another hurdle they are bracing to clear. A persistent ocean swell is creating dangerous conditions making it right for large sneaker waves. Dont be fooled, sometimes the big waves can be up to 30 minutes apart. But they are there. Strong rip currents are also possible. Meteorologist kari hall always tracking it for us. Never want to turn your back on the ocean, especially near ocean beach. Yeah, and they call them sneaker waves because they really can sneak up on you and then come up a lot higher on the beach than some of the other waves have been and looking at some of the patterns that weve seen, we are watching these weather systems approaching that could push these high waves up on the beach today, especially for our west and northwest facing beaches. Lets talk about our high temperatures for today that are going to be so nice and comfortable and im waiting for that because we are starting out very cold. Take a look at our highs for today. Reaching 65 degrees in livermore. Well even see some upper 60s today in san jose, as well as parts of the north bay and santa rosa, napa reaching 67. We are going to see some cold fronts moving in. Thats what is kind of churning up the waves along the coastline. But look at what happens late saturday night into sunday when we see this system approaching and right now the models are putting down a slight chance of rain for the north bay. Okay, any little bit of rain that we can get, well take it because its been so dry. But it doesnt look like a lot. And then we go back to some dry weather. Now, well be watching this system coming in because especially if we dont get any rain out of it, it will churn up some high winds and that could possibly give us a high fire danger and we do not want that, especially as we head through the month of december. As we look at what some of the models are showing in terms of rain, well, once again, not a lot. Just a few hundredths of an inch especially for the north bay and then that rain weakens as it continues to move to the south and east. As we go through the water year and the forecast and weve seen so far weve measured very little amounts of rain. We are at a deficit of 5 1 2 inches of rain for santa rosa and else where those deficits are pretty big. So, weve only gotten about 4 of the normal amount of rain in oakland and san jose still doing very bad. So were looking at dry weather conditions through the forecast and were watching for the potential of any rain going into the next couple of weeks. All right. Looks like everything is okay and it is now off to the shoulder. So aside from a little slowing, everything is okay. Unfortunately, that earlier crash along westbound 580 where there was debris in the lane, it looks like now there is a second potentially unrelated crash right near that same area. Good morning from dfw airport here in dallas behind me a 737 max the plane grounded for 20 months and the just recertified the plane but must put in Certain Software fixes before they can fly the plane. We flew the max yesterday. We flew it from dallas to tulsa and back again. As part of an American Airlines demonstration flight to prove that the plane is, in fact, safe. You can put your families onboard the plane. We went in depth at the Maintenance Center in tulsa to see the fixes they are putting into the plane and the confidence they have that the plane is safe to fly, even though the families of some of the people onboard that ethiopian flight that say, no, it is not a safe plane to fly.
