A San Francisco Police Officer is in the intensive care unit tonight after he was critically injured. The officer was on bike patrol when an suv hit him on turk near van ness avenue just before 12 30 this afternoon. The suspect was arrested after a threehour manhunt at ellis and leaven worth street. The car was found abandoned near buena vista park. The officer was rushed to zuckerberg San Francisco general. He was patrolling the tenderloin when he was run down. Everyone is obviously taking it hard. I just spoke with some of the officers from the affected station, and everyone right now is having a tough time with this. So i ask the public to keep the officer in their prayers. The suspects name has not been released, but this is video of him being arrested. He was being investigated for a firearms violation. A uc Berkeley Student says she was sexually assaulted in a dorm room. Uc police say it happened in the unit one residence hall. The 18yearold says she met her attacker at a Fraternity Party and was assaulted around 2 00 a. M. Sunday morning. Police say they currently have no description of the suspect. Four bear cubs are in quarantine tonight after testing positive for a rare virus that is believed to have killed two other cubs at lake tahoe. The bears are being looked after at lake tahoe wildlife care. Its been working with state wildlife officials and uc davis since the first cub died in august. A second cub died three weeks later.
