This is the first time this season weve had a storm ranking 3 on the impact scale. So far today the north bay has seen the worst. We have Live Team Coverage spread out across the bay area. As we close in we can see the rain moving in there marine county over to napa county. The orange and red colors there, moving north of Sonoma County toward the napa area, east of fairfield. Its a strong storm and it will be with us tonight and tomorrow morning producing anywhere from 1 inch to 2. 5 inhes for most of the bay year area. 2 to 4 inches in the hills. Heaviest of the rain will be in the north bay until midnight. Moving into San Francisco and oakland later tonight in the Early Morning hours. Into the south bay between 2 00 and 8 00 a. M. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 3 00 tomorrow morning for all of the north bay, especially the barn scar areas. A look at how things are shaping up tonight and tomorrow in a few minutes. Dan. And theres work being done in places like silverado to protect storm drains now covered with fabric and surrounded by gravelled bags to keep the ash and debris flowing from gutted homes away from local water ways. Detectives believe neil constructed the rifles himself from purchased parts. Today authorities found the body of a fifth victim, neils wife who had been shot to death. Her body was concealed under the floorboards over the couples home. Authorities praised the staff for their decision to put the campus into lock down, likely saving the lives of children. I truly believe we would have had a horrific blood bath in that school if that school hadnt taken action when they did. Neil was shot and killed by Police Responding today. We had some this morning as well. Wen it was dry thats when public works and residence got out and did storm preparations. The city of walnut creek spent the last two weeks finishing most but not all of its storm prep work. Thats why this huge vacuum truck was out clearing debris. Crews have been out cleaning out debris wrecks in all the water ways. Weve been inspecting and cleaning all the inlets throughout the city. That involves pulling the breaks off making sure the pipes are clear. Reporter too bad greg fell son of walnut creek doesnt have a crew to deal with standing water. On problem like nights tonight its three or 4hes. Reporter its part of the reason hes filling sandbags provided by the city. The smarter things would be to put a better drainage in. Scattered showers tomorrow afternoon. Risk a flooding in the burn scar areas in the north bay. Low 50s in the north by the way low to mid60s every where else. This storm ranks three on the storm impact scale. Most locations will see from 1inch to 2. 5 inches of rain. Higher elevations well see 2 to 4 inches of rain. Winds will be gusting at 50 Miles Per Hour or higher. Starting 9 00 tonight, north bay will be getting a drenching but the rain will be pushing southward toward golden gate into San Francisco. By midnight tonight the heaviest rain will be into the central part. East by the way, peninsula, still raining in part of the north bay. By 3 00 a. M. Well see the storm swinging south ward. At that point the peninsula and le sant area will be getting a pounding. The intense activity will be far to the south. The morning commute will be a mess. 5 00 tomorrow morning still raining through the central part of the bay area. Most of the east by the way but now pushing down into the santa cruz area. The rain will continue following from 7 30 to 9 30. Well see the storm clearing out by midday tomorrow. There will be pocks of showers following the main body of that storm through the afternoon and evening hours. By 6 00 tomorrow evening look for rainfall totals at 1. 5 to 2. 5. San francisco and san ramon this is going to be a soaking storm and a windy storm. Wind advisory in effect until 3 00 tomorrow morning for the hills and mountains of the bay area. Look for gust over 50 Miles Per Hour. Possibility of down trees and power lines. Some of the storm high concern for flooding in the burn scar area. Debris flows, mud slides, moderate trees. Concern for creek areas and pour outages. Overnight lows in the mid50s. Tomorrows high in the low to mid60s but cooler in the north bay. In the sierra, the storm warning in effect till 5 00 tomorrow morning. Snow fall totals 2 to 5 feet. Drive g is not recommended in the sierra areas. Well have calm conditions on friday, saturday.
