President Moon Jae-in will host an international summit on climate change next week. The P4G Summit will be held virtually on May 30 and 31. It will be the first multilateral meeting related to the environment that Korea has hosted. Some 60 heads of state and international organizations are expected to take part, including U.S. President Joe Biden. P4G stands for Partnering for Green Growth and Global Goals 2030. The summit was supposed to be held in Korea last year, but was postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic. Joining global efforts to respond to climate change, Seoul has unveiled its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. Cheong Wa Dae expressed hope that the P4G Summit will serve as a stepping stone to a successful UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow in November.
