Reporter lake county with dry brush and rugged terrain makes it one of the worst landscapes for firefighters. Theres nothing stopping it. Its very rugged territory and impossible to be put it out. Seven mobile homes burned to the ground and at least six others were damaged when a wind whipped fire tore through a community on Brannan Island road in the delta. Several propane tanks exploded. By the time three Engine Companies got there, many trailers were destroyed. But they managed to save about three dozen units. Bart is closed this weekend between oakland and San Francisco because the transbay tube will be shut down. We assembled a Public Transit dream team of Bus Operators consisting of buses from ac transit, muni, samtrans and golden gate transit. 94 buses in all. The chp says the limited bus bridge is intended to be a, quote, Lifeline Service to those with no other options. They wanted people to consider using ferries or driving across the san mateo bridge. The Market Street subway and twin street tunnel will shut down at 10 p. M. To install communication systems. No rail service between the embarcadero and west portal stations. Muni will have buses running between 9 30 p. M. And 1 30 a. M. So again, that bart closure just this weekend the muni closure for the next six months. The 54 line busted monday night dumping about 15 million gallons of water. It created a mess at the Crystal Springs road entrance to the Junipero Serra county park. A 1920s era pipeline is part of San Franciscos hetch hetchy water system. A superior court jury has sided with the port of San Francisco in its effort to evict a restaurant. The port sued sinbads restaurant which had been trying to stay at its current site a little longer to allow time to find a new location. Jurors also granted the ports request that sinbads pay more than 71,000 in accrued rent. The port wants to clear the restaurant site to make room for an extended ferry terminal. An uber driver surrendered his license after hitting a cyclist in San Francisco. Police arrested Emerson Decarvalho on sunday. The coast guard is trying to determine where an oil slick off the Santa Barbara county coast came from. A ucSanta Barbara professor believes that oil slick is from natural ocean floor seepage. A lab analysis should come back in a few days. The beaches are still open for swimmers and surfers. New numbers show californians are cutting back on water use. Good news to deal with the lingering drought. Statewide water use dropped by more than 27 perse in june compared with june of 2013. Better than 20 Governor Brown wanted us to save. One of the cities with the most impressive reductions in water use in june is los altos at 40 across the board part of an overall 35 cut in the Santa Clara Valley water district. As a whole the bay area saved 32 . Could 1 billion make a dent in the drought . Senator Dianne Feinstein has drawn up a bill for emergency relief to help droughtstricken communities.
