Today south korea conducted a precision strike drill firing three missiles into the sea off their east coast. The countrys military held it in response to north koreas latest Ballistic Missile launch. The launch is the first since this one in september and comes just one week since President Trump declared north korea a state sponsor of terrorism. Reporter the missile was in the air for some 50 minutes soaring over 2300 miles into space before splashing down in the sea of japan. A gunman is dead following a shootout in reno, nevada. Police say that the gunman took a hostage. The s. W. A. T. Team confronted him on the 8th floor shooting and killing him. No one else was injured. The shooting is less than two months after las vegas gunman Stephen Paddock killed 58 people and injured nearly 500 others. He fired the shots from the 32nd floor of the mandalay bay resort. Paddock previously owned a unit at last nights shooting site and sold it last year. A deputy is hospitalized after a shootout. It happened last night in santa clarita. The suspect was also shot and taken to the hospital. He is in critical condition. The Sheriffs Department tweeted the officer will survive. Its unclear what led up to the shooting. San jose police have arrested a suspect in connection with the shootings that caused damage to a school. The vandalism took place at Booksin Elementary School in the citys willow glen area. Now, the latest shooting happened yesterday just before 4 a. M. Police say the shooter fired at surveillance cameras and School Buildings. No one was hurt. They found at shotgun near the book skin Elementary School school Booksin Elementary School but the shooter was gone. At this point, its still strictly seen as a case of vandalism granted its with a gun so its very concerning. Reporter it was the second time in two weeks that someone shot up Booksin Elementary School. Both happened overnight when no one was there. School Officials Say cameras kept rolling despite being shot at and they are sharing that Surveillance Video with police. Its unclear if the two incidents are related or not. My heart goes out to anyone who drives along southbound 101 this morning. Its not a fun ride. This is an accident that has been blocking a lane. Things are clearing and starting to move again but we are still in the red. Its slow to kastania. They are finally starting to clear it up. But its still going to be very heavy and thats already a slow commute in the morning. Eastshore freeway things are slowing down. This is westbound 80 right at carlson. Lots of brake lights there. 27 minutes from 4 to the maze. The bay bridge toll plaza, backing up there. We have about a 20minute commute from the maze into San Francisco. We are tracking problems on 680 where we are getting reports of a possible hazard. It looks like some debris southbound direction right near stoneridge blocking two lanes. And then westbound 84, just before 680, report of a twocar crash and that has traffic backed up to about stanley at this point. So expect slowdowns in that southbound direction. We are also tracking the delays along 880 for folks making their way out of san lorenzo, trying to get into hayward and further south, its a slow ride 21 minutes down to 84. If you are heading over to the dumbarton. San mateo in the yellow now. Those taillights westbound about 20 minutes to 101. Hats a check of your traffic; over to you.
