The Justice Department filed this amendment to an earlier arrest warrant involving a weapons charge two years ago in texas. Jose Ines Garcia Zarate was on probation when he shot kate steinle. So he was not allowed to commit another crime or even possess a weapon. The San Francisco jury found him guilty of weapons possession. For now, Garcia Zarate is in custody until the feds eventually come to get him. The one big player we havent heard from is San Franciscos District Attorney whose office lost the case. She was assaulted police say before one man hopped into the van and drove away, leading police on a chase that ended in the bayview. The suspect exited the vehicle and officerinvolved shooting occurred. The suspect was transported to San FranciscoGeneral Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
