Reporter when the Fire Department arrived on scenes and forced inside the lower unit, they found a woman unconscious by the door. First responders and responders did cpr on the husband before pronouncing him dead. The woman is in the hospital at st. Francis memorial. New at noon, four people displaced after a onealarm fire broke out in San Francisco this morning. Firefighters say that the blaze affected two homes on 31st avenue. Smoke was seen billowing in the sunset district. A closer look you can see the front windows shattered on the home on the ride with glass across the driveway. He cause is under investigation. Oakland city workers are on strike for a third day. Kpix 5s Jessica Flores is at city hall where another tense closed door Contract Negotiation is about to begin. Reporter the strike is taking a toll on the city. Just look at this trash piling up. These workers say they want to go back to work but say that the citys offer is unfair. [ chanting ] reporter they are chanting to city hall where Wage Negotiations between the city and the union are at a standstill and they are all frustrated. They are frustrated. We shouldnt go out here. I continue to be extremely disappointed that the unions have chosen to strike when we have not reached impasse. That is very unusual. It is an unfair labor practice. Reporter for a twoyear contract, the unions want an 8 raise. The city so far says it can only afford to guarantee a 4 raise with up to 2 more tied to revenue growth. The union says the workers are getting priced out of their own city. What were really asking the city to do is help us to break even. We just want to be able to afford to live in a city that we love and want to serve. Reporter the city council met yesterday to try to end the strike. They couldnt reach a deal. The city council again will have a closeddoor session at 1 p. M. Today inside city hall. In oakland, Jessica Flores, kpix 5. The citys projections show meeting the unions demands could lead to layoffs and a 20 million deficit. But the union says the city is underprojecting revenue. Firefighters are now struggling for a fourth day to get a hand on the wildfires raging in southern california. The number of evacuations are still in effect thousands of them. The thomas fire is the largest, but the skirball, creek and rye fires to the south and west are threatening thousands of homes. Here are the latest numbers. More than 100,000 acres burned with minimal containment. At least 200 structures are destroyed. And more than 260 public and Charter Schools in the area are closed for the rest of the week.
