The victim and suspect were about to become stepbrothers. The suspect kevin alanis was shot and killed saturday after pulling a gun on state park rangers. In la county this morning, a pilot is lucky to be alive after his blaine ran out of gas midair. He landed safely in a river bed. He did not make it to the airport. He landed in the wash.
