The man doubles back incomes behind the wellman and slugs are in the head. The woman and child turn and walk away. Another camera angle shows a closeup of the suspect police are looking for. This area two blocks from union square has seen an increase in assaults and shoplifting. They get some teachers we dont have time to catch them. One man who works the area of the Security Guard said it appears the suspect was having mental problems or was on drugs. I try to help a lady. Theres a lot of people that walk around like that. Like goals. They have no cares of the world. It is sad to see Something Like that take place. The bigger issue is the homeless problem and the mental illness. And being able to come up with a proper solution for that. Reporter police are asking for the publics help in locating the suspect. They want that person in for questioning and taken off the streets. In the meantime the mother and child police say are okay. Tonight we are finding out pg e admitted in a preliminary report that a downed wire might have sparked flames in the east bay yesterday. Reducing the Lafayette Tennis Club to ash. And damaging a couple homes. Nobody was hurt. The area was not affected by the blackout. In the past few minutes pg e officials warning that some customers who are currently without power may not have it restored before the next wave of shutoffs begin tomorrow. Pg e saying they have restored power to about 400,000 customers. Leaving about 587,000 customers still in the dark. The utility said it got the all clear for restoration is 7 am today. That was a bit earlier than expected. That has allowed more time for daytime restoration work. But heres the bad news. The next shut off this starts tomorrow could impact up to 600,000 customers. Here is the map of the areas that might be affected. It looks a lot like the outage we just saw. With the biggest impact on the north bay. Minutes ago pg e explained why that is the case. We have 2 very important critical to 30 kb transmission lines that are in the north bay area. They serve customers along the north coast and down into marin county. Another unexpected issue during the outage. A water shortage for some bay area cities. John ramose explains why. Reporter the city of vallejo is dealing with fires and power outages. This weekend they experience a different kind of emergency. This one was about water. Much of vallejo was without power tonight. Officials have planned for that by installing a backup generator at the citys Water Treatment facility. That plant turns raw water from Northern California lakes into potable drinking water. There was a water emergency this weekend that had nothing to do with vallejo at all. We were getting close to that todays water left. Reporter that is nervous time. Very much so. It is not a situation we are comfortable with. Reporter the problem was actually 14 miles away in the town of cordelia. Vallejo has a pump station there that pushes raw water up to a reservoir in the top of this hill and onto the Water Treatment plan. When the power in cordelia was cut off they had no way to bring in any more raw water. We were not warrant it was a potential until thursday. That is when we started working to acquire a generator. Because the generators are so large. The are hard to find. Reporter they put out a call for conservation. That was mostly ignored. A total ban on Outdoor Watering was ordered. As the supply began getting tight there was even more demand as firefighters battled a large blaze on sunday. So officials called pg e and reminded them that water was critical for firefighting and other life supporting operations. We consider them partly responsible to make sure we could deliver. Reporter it sounds like that got their attention. Within less than 12 hours we had a generator. Reporter last nights power plants arrived at the pump station. The water system is now operating normally. To the residents who were ordered to stop watering all is well that ends well. Think you community for receiving that message. They may use water again back at normal levels now that we have our raw water pumping into the system. Upon the portable generator is a temporary solution.
