It is a lot of food and we are so grateful for the volunteers who get up early on Christmas Morning to help prepare these meals. We package them and as you can see they will be delivered later this morning to 4000 people who may not otherwise get a warm meal today. Or see somebody and give them a christmas greeting. Give him a hug and say hello. For a lot of people the volunteers are the only person they will see today. I think that is kind of a staggering fact. That this could be someones only interaction even on christmas. Yes. Yes. We want to give people a sense that they are not alone and for so many the holidays can be a lonely time. We want people to know there is someone there who cares for them and is there for them and they have some people who will look out for them. How many volunteers does it take to make that many meals . It takes hundreds of volunteers. We actually started yesterday. We had several, about 40 volunteers, at this location packaging we thousand meals and now we have several more here to do the rest. We just really could not do without the volunteers. People are so generous this time of year. Especially, definitely throughout the rest of year, but definitely this time of year people want to get back and we are so grateful that we can provide that opportunity to get back and show people that there are people who care. Because its raining outside and cold this morning, we literally have hundreds of volunteers helping us provide 4000 meals to homebound seniors and other folks who will not be able to have or be with family today or enjoy a happy meal. Obviously this time of year you kind of have this abundance of volunteers. There is a feeling and sense of giving back. This is our yearround effort for you though, right . Absolutely. We have programs that reach out to youth and teenagers and homeless people. Certainly the holidays are an emotional time so to realize there are people without this is a time when the Community Steps<\/a> up and is extra for those in need. Reporter a lot of prep goes into this. I dont think i have ever seen that many mashed potatoes. Is a lot of work when youre making 4000 meals. We prepare them in the bucket loads. Volunteers are trained and they were up this morning preparing them. We have drivers ready to go. We will take them to the Distribution Center<\/a> next door and we will get them to the people any.
